Good idea, I had the handheld when it originally came out in 2020. I wasn't sure if I would like it but it was something new but familiar and the fact that it could be used with HDMI was a selling point for me. Then the VS came out and I played that more once I had it. I travel a lot for work, so I usually take my EXP and now the Pocket with me. It's good the carts can be used in various devices and still have built in games with the EXP and Pocket. My cartridge collection has grown to 22 and quite happy with the variety of games.

I think that this is a terrific idea @RickR!  As you said, it will be great to have an excuse to pay our Evercades and explore the cart collections.  Count me in!

Everyone:  I'd like to introduce an idea to have some fun together with our Evercades.  Every month, we can collectively choose one cartridge and play it....together.  We can explore every game on the cart.  Discuss tips.  Discuss favorites.  Discuss not-so-favorites.  Both good and bad!  And maybe if we find games that lead themselves to it, have impromptu high-score challenges.  Or end the month with our tabulated rankings of games on each cart.
This will be unique for our club, and I'm hoping it will give us all an excuse to PLAY our Evercades and maybe even attract new members here.  Let's see where this goes!  Speaking for myself, I want to play my Evercade more and explore the library in depth.
    What do you all think?
Coming soon in another thread will be a poll for our first game selection for Feb 2024!  Please vote.  I want to make sure we allow members to pick the games going forward, with enough advance notice that everyone can get a copy of the game beforehand (if they don't already have it).

As reported by our friend and ClubVCS member @Ballistik, PolyGunR is a new top-down, isometric, physics based, run OR gun from veteran developer Tony Barnes (RetroNinja)!
The trailer brings to mind Vindicators.  If its got near the polish of RetroNinja's BPM Boy, VCS owners are in for a treat!
Check out Ballistik's video below!  Is this a day one purchase for you?

    Description:
In this video I repair and restore a rare video game console called the SuperGrafx. This console was a market failure, but that’s what makes it so interesting. This is an extremely thorough restoration that took over 8 hours to complete. Once I’m done with refurbishing the console, it’s better than new!

Justin reacted to 7800 Pro Gamer in Is there a comprehensive list of Jaguar Homebrew?
I was talking to @Funkmaster V on the phone tonight and we started talking Jaguar, as you inevitably do, and he asked if there was a list of Jaguar Homebrew similar to what he's trying to do over at atari7800forever.com.  And I wasn't able to find one that includes everything.
While I'm a ways off from doing a Ranking the Jaguar Library thing, I might be able to compile something of a definitive list of Jaguar Homebrew that is available on cartridge and possibly the WIP and download only stuff too. If it's already been done then fantastic, I'd like to see it for collector purposes but if not maybe I can give it a try...

People love to say “fAiLeD cOnSoLe”. It’s like a meme at this point. NEC briefly made this variant of the PC Engine for the Japanese market and released 5 SuperGrafx games before moving on to the Super CD and Arcade CD which was better technology. They chose a different path. This was fairly common for products at that time to be released in Japan first, almost like a test market. SuperGrafx added an additional GPU that put another layer of graphics into PC Engine games. All but one SuperGrafx games were also PC Engine compatible. I’ve played the SuperGrafx games, they’re cool but I love the Super CD and Arcade CD much better. Of the few decisions NEC got right, the Super CD was a big one.

Justin reacted to 7800 Pro Gamer in The Atari Network feat. 7800 Pro Gamer YouTube Channel
Hey guys, long time no update!  I've put out a ton of content since the last time I posted.  We do a review every Sunday and a "featured" video every Thursday.  Usually featured videos are about what's going on with Atari and the community, covering classic consoles and releases, buyers guides and stories about our favorite hobby!  For example, last week we reviewed California Games for the Atari 2600:
And we covered the 2600+ versus the Retron 77... Which will be getting a follow up so I can clear up some errors and talk about my experience since the unboxing!
I also host a podcast with Funkmaster V from Big N Funky Productions over on YouTube, in The Atari Network Podcast Brought to you by atari7800forever.com!  Last week we talked about some of what happened in 2023 along with the usual news and events in the world of Atari!  Check it out if you haven't:
But the main reason for this update is the possibility of merch coming soon.  I had somebody ask about if that's something we would do and said they would rock a shirt about the podcast or Atari Network.  I never considered that anybody would be interested in merchandise but there appears to be a small amount of people wanting it.  So right now I'm shopping around providers and mocking up designs for a limited merch run.  Whatever I do will probably be in limited quantities as I don't want to be on the hook for lots of stuff that doesn't sell.
Right now I'm designing the coffee mug but also plan on offering 3-4 unisex t shirt designs, a "tumbler" or travel mug, baseball cap, stickers and vinyl decals for car bumpers etc.  I envision there being an Atari Network shirt, a 7800 Pro Gamer shirt and possibly a podcast shirt if Vinnie agrees.  If you'd like to see something else let me know.
This merch type stuff is probably a few months away from being released as I want to make sure whatever I sell to you is quality and affordable.  But once they sell out their done unless they go stupid fast which I doubt.  So for those of you who asked for it I promise it's coming, and everyone else don't feel obligated.

With all that said thank you guys for the continued support and making this YouTube thing so much fun.  This week I'm doing a video about why the Atari Jaguar is so expensive and if it's really worth the cost today and there will be a review of Delta Space Arena for the Atari 7800 by Video61.  I'm also working on reviews for Madness Beverage, 5200 version of HERO, and much more.  I'm also hoping to do an awesome project with somebody close to Atari in the 80's and 90's especially the Jaguar!
So subscribe if you haven't, and Stay Classy Atarians!

I'd love to see another episode too, but I saw @btbfilms76 selling their Jaguar CD unit on eBay a year back or so. Don't know what led to that, but I assumed it meant the Jag Bar was over. Sad to see for me, given the Jag Bar was one of the two main motivations for me buying my first Jaguar in 2020 just prior to the Highlander episode.
