TrekMD got a reaction from DegasElite in Lost Credit: The Secret Atari Heroes of GCC
They sure did! I was not aware that they had developed Phoenix for the 2600, the one and only port of the game to home systems. Interesting that they would make the game as best they could and then scale it back based on resources of the system. I bet a 16K version of Phoenix to the 2600 would have been even more impressive. I also liked how they thought about it when making games. "Let's capture the arcade experience and make it as close as possible." Very different from the idea Atari had when they developed the original port of Pac-Man. History would have been so different had these guys kept on developing games for the 7800 in 1984! I hope the next video covers the story of the 7800 and what they had originally planned for the system!

I don't believe this has been posted. Well worth a watch. This is Part 1. When Part 2 is released, I'll update the thread.

$18.000?!? No thank you. I'll enjoy pictures and videos of it. For free! 😆

TrekMD reacted to Sabertooth in Lost Credit: The Secret Atari Heroes of GCC
I meant to share this earlier in the week @TrekMD! It's definitely worth a watch. I've always been fascinated by the GCC story. They developed the majority of my childhood favorites.
Excellent episode @fultonbot!

TrekMD got a reaction from Sabertooth in A look at the Super pimp GRAVITAR Limited Edition 2600 cart from Atari
Man, that sucks. They at least gave you some money back but that doesn't fix the damage to the box. 😞

43,669. I played on OpenEmu for Mac OS using a PS4 clone controller. This was the result of a one hour grind session, my first in a few months.

TrekMD got a reaction from Ballistik in Atari Stories
OK. I have Spotify installed but hardly use it. I have Podcast Repulic for all my podcasts. I may convert the YT video into MP3 so I can listen to the episodes in that app when I drive.

This is great! Can it be found in other podcast apps besides Spotify?

No, so far I've just chosen Spotify, its super easy for me to post there, takes like 5 minutes once the video is recorded on YouTube

TrekMD reacted to Sabertooth in A look at the Super pimp GRAVITAR Limited Edition 2600 cart from Atari
My copy of Gravitar arrived damaged. The spine of the box has a crease to the Fuji logo. Atari didn't have any spares so they refunded me $50 and let me keep the cart. Still sucks because it was a 10 cart set.
These carts all look very nice. Quality control and developer credits are spotty at best. For the 2600 arcade ports, the arcade devs are credited as "creators" and the 2600 programmers are left out.
I'm hoping that with AL onboard as the historian, these things won't be issues in the future.

TrekMD reacted to CrossBow in Atari introduces NEW CARTRIDGE-BASED ATARI 2600+
I will not be in attendance this year. The costs for me are honestly out of hand for it. The ITC will be there in spirit through all the consoles folks are enjoying the new games on.

That IS awesome, but the first thing that came to mind was, "How can one person find all the time to build and maintain it." Maybe he also has a railroad modified DeLorean.

TrekMD reacted to D r Clu in Atari's Character Bench: Who Is Mascot-Worthy?
I tried to contact the author but so far nothing. Would have been nice to see the more improved version that he showed in later screen shots with the background. But at least we got the demo that we got.

TrekMD got a reaction from MistaMaddog in The Atari 5200 gives the Intellivision and the ColecoVision a run for their money.
The 5200 has a good game library. In fact, it has some of the best good-to-bad ratio for games. Never mind that 8-bit games can be converted to it. Had Atari released the self-centering controllers, I believe things could have been different, as that was the weak point for the system. Not that the ColecoVision controllers were all that good. The Inty controller is not bad but does take getting used to it. Also, the planned smaller 5200 (5100?) would have been nice.
