Crazy thing is, I believe Atari announced they were going to release a new and improved Donkey Kong and DK Jr for the 2600, when Atari acquired the Coleco 2600 library. When they were asked why they released the same DK and DK Jr for 2600, they said they had given it an Atari cartridge shell and better label 😑

Well, I'd say they didn't want to spend the money to make better versions.  That's what happened with DK on the 2600.  Garry Kitchen asked for 8K ROM but they told him he was limited to 4K due to cost.  With 4K he would have added the two other screens to the game.  He's said this at interviews and retro events.  Can you imagine if the 2600 version had had all four screens while the ColecoVision and other more advance systems only had three?

I would support it but, as Justin says, it would need game library support as well.  It could be enhanced to do better 3D graphics also.

OK even I think this is pretty cool to see, as someone burned out on the overly focused 2600 which, make no mistake I LOVE, great to see some other classic Atari platforms represented, hopefully, this is the start of seeing more products focused on more Atari platforms. NGL this is way better than my skeptical ass expected.
Note at around the 30-minute mark stay tuned, he runs a bunch of games NOT included using ROMS off the SD card slot 😉

Hmm, I was considering getting this because it looks cool; however, I am having second thoughts. 

The 5200 has a good game library.  In fact, it has some of the best good-to-bad ratio for games.  Never mind that 8-bit games can be converted to it.  Had Atari released the self-centering controllers, I believe things could have been different, as that was the weak point for the system.  Not that the ColecoVision controllers were all that good.  The Inty controller is not bad but does take getting used to it.  Also, the planned smaller 5200 (5100?) would have been nice.

I want whatever the person running that auction is smoking!  The person has to be in cloud 9!

Thinking ahead IS the time machine. Get what you can while you can and cherish it.
DeLorean guys are saying the same thing "wow I wish I would've bought one 20 years ago". I know a lot of people that would've loved to have bought a home ten years ago or two years ago. Everything is downstream from that. Cars, video games, all the "toys" that people enjoy.

It would be cool if a game in the same genre was made but that also took advantage of what the Jaguar can offer.
