Marco1019 got a reaction from socrates63 in Atari 2600 Games That Never Get Old!
Q*Bert and Joust are also in the 5 Minute Challenge. I played Q*Bert ages ago & remain impressed by the port. I had never played 2600 Joust prior to the challenge & I was really impressed. The floating eggs are a nice wrinkle.

This is a wonderful thread. I'm taking part in the Atari 2600 5 Minute Challenge over at TG, and it features 31 games for the Atari 2600. A few of those games have always had some personal replay value, including (in ABC order):
Enduro Ms. Pac-Man Phoenix It's no coincidence that many games listed in this entire thread were designed by Actiivision.
@sramirez2008, it's nice to see a Starplex as I never owned one, nor knew anyone who owned one.

Marco1019 reacted to Atari 5200 Guy in Atari 2600 Games That Never Get Old!
Asteroids is in my top 10 definitely.
Asteroids was very popular in my area. I do remember the 2600 Asteroids flying off the shelves rather quickly when I would look at those shelves behind the counter, wishing for an Atari.
Fast forward to the NES era and every 2600 bundle mom and I would find at yard sales had Asteroids and Space Invaders guaranteed. The 2600 got really good ports of both games IMO.
Missile Command was one game that didn’t really matter which Atari system you played it on. The 2600 got just as good of a port of that game as the 5200 and A8 got. Really well done.

Marco1019 got a reaction from DegasElite in Club VCS - Issue 01: Is the Fun Back?
Here is the Club VCS Fanzine segment from last night's show. This video has been edited slightly from the original airing; I did share the link in the chat. I apologize in advance for any errors during the segment; I've been juggling personal matters, one of which I talked about at the end of the show.
I can say that the fanzine segment was well-received by the viewers. They pointed out the 1980s style and layout.
Enjoy the segment!

Marco1019 got a reaction from MaximumRD in Video games & Computer Print Ads from back in the day
I learned earlier today on Twitter that today marks the 35th anniversary of the Sega Mega Drive! Here's a Japanese ad I found via search:

Love the Super Charger. Communist Mutants from Space is my favorite Starpath game. Btw, I purchased an Arcadia Corp. Super Charger catalog and to my surprise, it has an offer for a Full Color Communist Mutants from Space poster. I was not aware that a poster existed. I love this artwork. Does anyone have or ever seen the actual poster? I'm willing to pay $7.00 for it. 😉

6,910 with the Classic. Incremental improvement. Also, I accessed the Stella settings with my keyboard and adjusted for scanline filters. The settings save for the specific game, but not for all games. It's still fun to adjust to your preference.
