  1. Venture Atari 2600 Difficulty: Skill Level 1 High Score: 10,900 August 19, 2020
  2. Stupid Trameils. But would retailers nationwide really want to sell the ProSystem? Nintendo had a hard time getting into the market. They had to pretend the NES was a toy with ROB and stuff. I doubt Atari would have done that. Plus, what killer apps did Atari have? Another version of Ms. Pac-Man or Dig Dug?
  3. And I don't want to sound like I'm hating on the 7800. I think it had real potential but it was just too little too late and Atari obviously didn't care.
  4. Let's be honest. The writing was on the wall when Super Mario Bros came out. Add to it Nintendo's monopolistic third party rules and even if Atari poured their heart and soul into it it never would have killed the NES. Poor thing.
  5. @kamakazi20012 Sgt. Pepper's LHCB is their most overrated album. I can name 5 of their albums that are better.
  6. Well... At least we have the seagull adapter?
  7. Ah yes. You're the 5200 guy. I read one of your posts from a while back. Super Breakout, right?
  8. @Justin Working on it right now! So happy to know people are still playing this nearly 40 years later when we all have so many other options to get our Pac-Man fix.
  9. Thanks. Looking forward to playing Food Fight, Pole Position II, and Ballblazer. Maybe I'll even get KC Munchkin someday! So happy to find out someone made that.
  10. Thanks, @Justin. I typically play on mode 5 or 6, so it'll take a bit to adjust to the default mode again. According to my high score notebook I keep, my top score on default mode is 7088. I can do better than that.
  11. I'm not a huge fan of shooters but I can appreciate them. I'd say 1943 is probably my favorite NES game. Vanguard I play often on 2600. Not sure I want to spend $500 just to play them on the TurboDuo, though.
  12. If you have an original Xbox- or PS2-compatible system, I'd say play it on Atari Anthology. The game is dirt cheap and it's a decent collection of arcade and 2600 games.
  13. Thanks, everyone! I think I'm going to get on the waiting list! Edit: I am officially on the list!
  14. Thanks. I'm not terribly familiar with the us versions, but I've listened to them all in the past.
  15. I forgot to mention in my post above that the whole 7800 package is $100. Silly me.
  16. Rubber Soul is their only album where it's debatable. If I remember correctly, it had some songs on it from Help?
  17. I need to get me an Odyssey 2 sometime. My dad used to own one back in the day. I'm on the waiting list at my local video game store. Gotta play me some KC Munchkin!
  18. @dauber Got a favorite album?
  19. I just called my local retro game store. They say when they get them in they include all the cords, a little coax adapter, one "Painline" controller and around 5 or so games. Is that a good deal? Keep in mind I have a plethora of 2600 controllers and a couple Sega ones as well.
  20. @dauber Robotron 2084 seems like a good excuse to own 2 Amiga Power Stiks. If I ever lose a hand, I'll always have my Power Stiks.
  21. The Turboduo reminds me of that Sega Cd console that had it built in. I believe it was called the JVC X-Eye?
  22. @dauber I've been looking at the Edladdin Easy 78 controller board thing and am considering building an arcade controller for use with my 2600 and if I get one a 7800. Would you recommend that? Also, where can I find @nosweargamer's podcast?
  23. They made controllers for the NES? I didn't expect that.
