  1. It is a little sad. I look at people weird sometimes, but always as a joke. I'll say something like, "Sega's garbage! Nintendo is better!" or "Tunnel Runner shouldn't be at #63!" but I always respect others' gaming opinions and don't intend to hurt others' feelings and try to communicate that with them afterwards if they feel offended.
  2. That's really all you need! Welcome to the site! It's really great and filled with loads of friendly people! I hope you enjoy your time here.
  3. Haunted House never did much for me. I only learned how to play it a few months ago when I got the manual. The first game mode is too easy for me and the others are just too frustrating.
  4. Just listened to episode 4 of the 7800 game by game podcast. @nosweargamer was talking about how Food Fight can crash on certain revisions of the 7800. What causes this? Should I be concerned?
  5. There are always solutions, but they're just less convenient. At least the Lynx had a backlight.
  6. As a proud Game Boy Advance owner I'm going to say that it does. At least on long road trips or something. At home it couldn't matter less.
  7. @socrates63 I haven't improved any. You might beat me! I've been listening to music or podcasts or youtube when I play and it really seems to help. When my brain is distracted I get into a zen Pac-Man state and perform much better. You might want to try something like that. Might help. Glad to have another member in the 2600 Pac-Man club!
  8. Watched the first episode. Wish they would've fleshed out why the crash happened and didn't just pin it all on ET and Pac-Man. Otherwise I like it. High production values. Charles Martinet's in it as the narrator.
  9. @Justin that replica video was fascinating. That would be a fun thing to fiddle around with for an afternoon.
  10. I've long wondered how they started those things. You can't order them from suppliers because no one makes those old games anymore. Maybe flea markets, garage sales, asking around, craigslist, etc? I know nothing about business if you couldn't already tell. It's unfortunate about your GameStop but don't feel too bad because it's GameStop. They suck. If it was a local place it would be worse.
  11. Blasphemy! Super Nintendo is WAYYYYY better, @nosweargamer!!! I'm just messing with you. We all have our own opinions. I have a friend who's a Sega fanatic. We argue often. All friendly debates, of course. Thanks for the advice, but to be honest, I've seen most all of these games in the clearance bin and could probably get all of them for cheaper that way (they seem to hate Sega there!). Can't deny how cool of a pack-in that is, though! Very varied. A little something for everyone.
  12. @nosweargamer I've always liked the label art on the SMS games. If I ever invest in a real, non-AtGames Sega Genesis, I'm getting the model one and a Power Base Converter. Not too big of a Sega fan, so it would be a while before I purchase one. They're not too expensive, either; a model one, controller, all the cords and a game only runs about $35 at my local game store. If I ever pick one up, I'm buying Columns III on day one. Probably my favorite Genesis game and an absolute blast in multiplayer matches.
  13. Thanks, everyone, for all your controller help. I hope I don't have to use it. My hands are small enough that I don't think the PainLine controllers will cramp them. After all, I am a pretty big fan of the Intellivison-style vertical orientation seen on these controllers and other similar ones. If they do cramp, I guess I'll just have to tough it out for a few months. I bet a lot of you had to do that back when this thing was new.

  15. Yup, that's the one! It looks really nice. Love those handlebars! Looks like it be fun to own, play a few minutes, and then put it right on the shelf.
  16. If I get an arcade 7800 controller I think I'm going to build it. It seems the cheapest option and I can make it however I want. And that's a big if because after the 7800 is bought I won't have much money until Christmas or my birthday rolls around. I hope to get an actual job after this pandemic is over.
  17. Zoo Keeper is a great game. It was one of my favorites when I was little. Recently, I picked it up again and it's really quite unique. Reminds me of Donkey Kong with a bit of Qix and Oink. Really fun game. I'm much better than I remembered being all those years ago despite not playing it for a long time.
  18. Are you saying there's a flipped configuration?
  19. Update: the 7800 will be ready for pick-up at approximately Tuesday!
  20. I'm so happy. I never thought I'd get my 7800 in time to join you guys! I'm not half bad at the original on 2600, but I don't think I'll be able to beat @nosweargamer.
  21. I know the ColecoVision Expansion Module does. Not sure about the 5200 adapter if that's what you're talking about.
