  1. 23,800 -- yesterday's best. This was the only time I managed to break 20k, and I've been stuck at 12k-18k. I'm finding the background tune to be a little annoying when I play several games in a row. Game telling me to take a break? 🙃
  2. The power of the Pac -- that one seems to be a common gateway into the plug and play world 👍 Welcome to the I/O @Alex228727! Please visit the Introduce Yourself! subforum and introduce yourself to the community.
  3. 😆 A Pandoras Box is an uber deluxe plug and play on steroids! Welcome to the I/O @zgillet! Feel free to visit the Introduce Yourself! subforum, and well, introduce yourself 🙂
  4. 17,650 I'm super glad that Elevator Action was chosen for the challenge this month. It's one of my favorite arcade games, and I probably wouldn't be playing it if it wasn't for the high score challenge. Re-living a lot of memories from childhood.
  5. @DegasElite have you tried the comic book mode in Kindle app or Comixology app? Works pretty well going from panel to panel. But I usually just go with the full width view and scroll up/down.
  6. 14,450 The d-pad on the Xbox360 controller sucks. I need to see if I can get an adapter for my arcade controller to work.
  7. 6,300 RetroPie to the rescue -- 3 lives and additional at 10k seem to be the default. I didn't mess with any settings although I might fiddle with the display to fix the overscan. I had to look up what the goal of the game was and read up a little on wikipedia. You must enter all the red doors to collect secret documents in order to finish the level (building):
  8. I love Elevator Action from the setting to the music to animation. One of my favorite arcade games as a kid.
  9. Nice! From the rom creator himself. I love the little disclaimer blurb: Disclamier: if you're from Bridgestone Multimedia, and would like me to remove my posted ROMs of "Possible Mission", just ask. I have made no profit from "Possible Mission", and have only released it so that people can enjoy a working copy of the game.
  10. My first Plug n Play was the Namco Ms. Pac-Man, iirc. I can't believe that this thing is still sold in retail.
  11. @HDN Possible Mission was $43 + shipping. My understanding is that the rom file is available freely on AtariAge so search for it there if you want to play it on an emulator.
  12. Mail call from Amazon -- not exactly video games but still central to geek culture especially if you grew up during the 70s and 80s. Bionic Woman and Six Million Dollar Man are DVDs and the others are Blu-ray. I used to avoid buying DVDs since they can look awful on a 65" 4K TV, but now that I have a tube TV, I'm much more willing.
  13. When I told my neighbor yesterday that I've been playing Atari 2600 games for the past several months, she commented, "Aren't they coming out with a new Atari?" I was very surprised as she's not the gamer type. Outside of the brand name, nothing about the AtariVCS connects it to the past history of Atari, so I have no interest. I'm re-living it all things Atari right now with original hardware, so what more do I need?
  14. Thanks, everyone! For some reason, Demon Attack just clicked with me. I love simple shooters like this, but unfortunately, not all of them often love me back like Demon Attack. @RickR 🥂to you. It takes skillz to be consistently in the top.
  15. Nice! I didn't realize Wico controllers came in more colors than black and red. Thanks @nosweargamer
  16. He will always be The James Bond for me. As a kid, my first exposure to James Bond was the Moore movies during the 80s, and I love them. About twenty years ago, I bought the Bond DVD set and watched the Connery movies and was blown away. His ability to propel his career beyond the Bond films was quite the accomplishment. As already mentioned, his performance as the senior Dr. Jones in The Last Crusade was outstanding and memorable.
  17. Thanks for sharing @Atari 5200 Guy. I had no idea about K-Tel music. I didn't get into buying music until CDs came along. With CDs, the cheap source was one of those clubs (Columbia?) that let you get a dozen CDs for a penny to get you into the club.
  18. Mail call from GoodDealGames -- two 7800 prototype shoot-em-ups and a hack. Sirius, in particular, is supposed to be very good. I recently watched @nosweargamer's review of Impossible Mission and learned that the game is literally impossible to finish due to a bug. Possible Mission fixes the bug and makes it possible to finish Impossible Mission. I wanted to get a second copy (for you, Harry) but turns out this copy was the last and whether GDG restocks it is TBD.
  19. I was out today looking for items to put in the retro junk box. I visited a local retro game store that I usually don't visit often (not the best prices) but I was in the neighborhood. While there, I picked up another EA folio packaging game -- Earl Weaver Baseball. It's in great condition, and it's my second Amiga game. Back in the 80s, baseball was the sports game that I spent the most time with, and it was Earl Weaver Baseball and later Micro League Baseball (bought on ebay, box has seen better days). I never played Tony LaRussa Baseball though -- don't know why but it seemed popular enough as it had multiple releases.
  20. @Arenafoot shared this with me today -- commercials from the CBS Halloween special without the special. Nice nostalgic way to celebrate Halloween. Do you watch shows or movies during this time of year? I saw Nightmare Before Christmas in the theater last week with my wife. I'll probably fetch the disc to watch the Charlie Brown Great Pumpkin for the first time in maybe thirty years. After movies like It (which I haven't seen), clowns in the 21st century have become a creepy sight. Sorry, Ronald! Hamburglar is still a-ok.
  21. Very nice review and a prolific reviewer at that! 👍👏 @TrekMD
  22. 24 - 9 victory! Defense kept the CPU to three measly FGs while the offense and the short passing attack racked up 3 TDs! Thanks for posting the instructions, Rick. The photo was just sharp enough to make out the plays 🙂 RealSports Football on the 2600 plays very well. They did a great job. The last time I played RealSports Football was on my friend's 5200 almost forty years ago. I can't believe how old these games are, but they still fun as heck. Oh, and he crushed me every time in 5200 RS Football and the original 2600 Football.
  23. Not AtariAge store quality in terms of cartridge labels and manuals (if it even comes with one), but still very nice. I've bought more than half a dozen and just ordered three 7800 protos.
