  1. Ebay mail call -- I've been planning to buy Adventure II for the 5200 from the AtariAge store later this year and even separately ordered the box for it earlier. Well, I found the limited edition release and bought it. The box content photo is from the listing.
  2. I played the original Atari Football, and playing a two-player game by yourself was fun for a little while. I switched over to Backyard Football released by GoodDealGames. It's 2-on-2 football with some depth. First time playing it, I promptly got crushed by the CPU. Nice graphics. I'll try RealSports Football on the 2600 -- forgot about that one 🏈🏈
  3. On Atari Day today, I will be playing. It's football season, and I replied to NSG's giveaway post that I will play it during autumn 🍁🍁 I'm sure I'll have better play calling and execution during the final 2 minutes of a game to close out a game than the Seahawks yesterday 🤬🤦‍♂️
  4. It's about getting in the proverbial zone and locking in the focus -- the game doesn't get any more difficult once you past a certain point. Game on 🕹️ and Go Hawks!!
  5. 98,440 Squeezing in a game before Seahawks kickoff
  6. Mail call from AtariSales.com-- chipping away at my Atari 7800 list and checking off Scrapyard Dog. I also got a repro cartridge of Sentinel. The official release was PAL only, and AtariSales.com made an NTSC cartridge. And lastly, a sealed copy of Moon Patrol for the Atari 5200. It's one of my favorite arcade games and the 5200 port is very good.
  7. Cosmic Creeps Atari 2600 Difficulty: B/B High Score: 362,500 October 24, 2020
  8. DataSoft! They published a lot of memorable games for the Atari 8-bit. I have Zaxxon CIB. Bruce Lee is probably the one I played the most from DataSoft. I don't remember anything about Tumble Bugs. Love the art and often times cliche and corny game backstory ❤️ 🕹️
  9. I used to think I was pretty familiar with the Atari 8-bit game catalog, and I don't remember anything about those cartridges from CBS. I guess maybe they're more edu-tainment so I probably shut them out of mind. The only game I had trouble remembering was Astro Chase. I knew the box art but couldn't remember the name. Just like you, I ran into an ebay listing one day. I sometimes browse through ebay listings for A8 stuff just to see what's there, and I see games from time to time that I had completely forgotten. I think the last one I found was Silicon Warrior by Epyx. The box art really helps to jog the memory.
  10. What model is the Toshiba @Atari 5200 Guy?
  11. 💯 Yes, we both came to the I/O to enter for the giveaway and found an awesome community -- a super fantastic "consolation" prize
  12. That's a great mod! Looks to be a must to enjoy the little machine. I didn't know it had more games than pong.
  13. I started watching the OG Twilight Zone after listening to NSG's patreon podcast. I hadn't watched one since I was a pre-teen when I just found it weird and didn't appreciate it. It's on Netflix right now, and it's great stuff.
  14. 73,560 Feels like Friday today for some reason, and I was able to muster better focus. Game on 🕹️🕹️ The game doesn't appear to ramp up in difficult after a certain point, so it becomes a matter of sustained focus. I mentioned this before but an important strategy is to avoid the demon raining down the laser/bullets and go after the other demons. I have to remind myself not to engage the weaponized demon if possible and go after the others. As part of that strategy, when the weapon demon splits into two, go after the one that is not firing. Eliminating that one will cause the weaponized demon to dive, and it's a double win. You minimize exposure to demon fire, and get extra points for eliminating the weaponized demon once it starts to dive. I need to get some awesome PJ or lounge pants. Shorts and bare legs are so bleh when it's autumn 🍂🍁
  15. @Willie! have you played around with this mini Pong? Looks like it's recreating the original arcade machine look to some extent. My first arcade video game was Space Invaders and I missed seeing Pong in arcades. My first Pong experience was the home console with Radio Shack badging that played Pong.
  16. Love it! And your camera on your new phone is way better.
  17. Welcome to the I/O, @whisperingloon! I have a feeling there's an interesting story behind the name 🙂
  18. 🎉 Woot! Welcome to the I/O, T-man! I also came here a couple of months ago after watching NSG's monthly give-away video and stuck around. Very friendly welcoming bunch here.
  19. That sounds like a very good reason to pick up and try out Star Cruiser. Thanks, Jesse. If you have other repro or game suggestions, please share.
  20. Welcome to the I/O, GGG! Stampede is fun one. Can you earn the patch? Check out https://forums.atari.io/topic/4985-activision-patch-worthy-scores-of-atari-io/ for a list of I/O members who have achieved patch-worthy scores on Activision games. The I/O Stampede high score is kept here: https://forums.atari.io/topic/4947-stampede-atari-2600/
  21. Wow, that's incredibly generous @cjherr. You truly embody the spirit of the hobby and community. Lucky young man, that Harry. Must be doing something right 😉
  22. 😮 For real? I need to upgrade my audio on my CRT. I miss having a full stereo system hooked up to the TV.
