  1. Here's a :29 promo for Episode 64 of Retro With Marco airing on Tuesday, August 24 at 9pm ET...

  2. Month of Metroid is officially coming to my blog next month! Do you guys like Metroid too?

  3. Bought a pretty expensive European DS game off Ebay from a seller with a very good reputation. Took awhile to get here, but when it did, the game flat-out refuses to load on my 3DS. I've tried everything, but nothing seems to be working. I left the seller bad feedback on Ebay, but not really sure what else to do. It's a legit DS game, not a repro or counterfeit. Maybe it needs a deep cleaning? I've never had this happen before.

  4. I played the new(ish) Centipede arcade game - Centipede Chaos - this past week. It's a ticket redemption game and is quite fun. Anyone else tried it?

  5. Marc Oberhäuser has a fun name to say and a really cool store on Etsy called AtariGameBoxes. It features the game boxes that he conjures up for homebrews, reproductions, limited releases and prototypes. He has dozens of Atari 7800 game boxes available at around $16-17 a pop (and other classic systems too). Funkmaster V ordered a handful and looks at them for the first time with you. #atarigameboxes #atari7800 #atari Check out the biggest Atari 7800 website on the planet: www.Atari7800Forever.com

  6. Thank you all for one wonderful year on the IO! It’s been a pleasure meeting you all. Here’s to many more years.

  7. So I scored Astal for Sega Saturn a week ago on eBay.  It was advertised in great shape with the case intact.  The seller puts it in a priority mail with no bubble wrap or paper which obviously would allow for jostling during shipment.  Unsurprisingly, another Saturn case is needlessly ruined.  I reached out to the seller explaining the situation and asked for a partial refund of $8 for the case.  This is based on the cost of 10 replacement cases from Limited Run.  Instead of taking any responsibility for the poor packing, he suggested that I open a claim with USPS stating that the item wasn't damaged when he put it in the box!

I have a real problem with opening a claim because it truly is due to a lack of packing and not USPS.  I'd like to keep the game as they are getting harder to come by.  Its really not the money at all its the point of the thing.  I can't imagine sending a good Saturn case out like that.  I know that many of you buy and sell on eBay.  Is a negative or neutral rating warranted?

  8. Ah~~ the days of youth playing out in the ☀️ Have fun, stay safe, y'all

What do you call this? Can't be farmer's tan. Football tan? These legs belong to my younger son who plays high school football--tan lines from football workouts this summer 😆 🏈 Looks like a zebra or some other striped animal 🤣 He has a dark complexion to begin with, but this is new territory.

  10. Snapped these standing outside the eye clinic waiting for my ride (ie: my wife 😝) effect from the ongoing air quality alert due to Smokey skies from surrounding wildfires. 😕

  11. A quick rant... I get that not everyone studied philosophy in college, but for goodness sakes, can we at least add Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure to high school curriculum? Today was one of those days that made me regret the email handle I chose for myself coming out of college that I continue to use today -- socrates63.

I went to the University District in Seattle this morning to drop off my Kindle e-reader to trade in for a gift card and 20% coupon for a future Kindle purchase from Amazon. I was asked for my email address, and I said saw-kra-teez-63. It was apparent he was lost, so I spelled it out for him... three times... and he still couldn't get it right. Was he nervous because of my imposing Adonis physique? Finally, another guy jumped in to help. I knew I should have gone with "sixpak," my high school nickname 🤦‍♂️ At least no one said out loud SO-CRATES. I would have died if someone did.

But while I was in the area, I walked over to Pink Gorilla and Al's Music, and pick up some goodies. I've always wanted to see The Black Hole, so I ordered a DVD copy when I got home. I don't collect Jaguar games, but when I find reasonably priced CIB copies, I don't mind adding them. I now have three 🙂 (Tempest is the other one I have).

  12. I regret never being on some kind of mission leading a team where I could say in a low husky voice "STAY FROSTY!" 😎

  13. Living large, living fancy 😄 Finally, after sitting in several boxes in the foyer since last October, I spent the Fourth assembling this motorized standing desk by Uplink. The Steelcase office chair is still in the box (I'll probably get to that this weekend).

The equipment was provided gratis by HBO Benefits since my chiropractor wrote a note explaining my back condition. HR lady gave me carte blanche and told me to order whatever I wanted and insisted that I order a nice standing pad as well. I see it as my "parting gift" from the company.

After getting the pink slip last November though, I had lost all interest in assembling it, but now that I have a new job, I had a reason to get it up and working pronto 😄 It's very nice. I can now open the Super Mario Bros. Game & Watch that I got to use as my desk clock.

Life is slowly but surely returning to a sense of normalcy.

  15. JUST AN FYI to everyone: This Tuesday at 3 pm is when I go to get the Cyst on the white of my left eyeball drained....obviously, I am nervous and not looking forward to it. 😐 Please wish me good luck.

  16. Pluto TV

Ever hear of it? I didn't until I applied for a job. It's an ad-supported free streaming service. I've been watching a lot of shows that I grew up with as a kid (Family Ties, Facts of Life, and more). This week, I started my new job as TPM for international. I'm working with folks to bring Pluto TV to markets outside the US. I'm working for the first time in seven months, so my head is spinning a bit.

Recovering from heart surgery took a few months. I don't think I'm 100% but pretty close and certainly well enough now to work.

  18. Just an image captured with the Logitech Webcam at 2:30 am, however, this was using Windows 11 Leaked version running in VMware 😜😎

  19. Does anyone else collect PSP movies?  I'm up to 51 of them, with these 11 being my latest pickup.

  20. RickR's 1980 "Night Driver" high scores.  I was 11, and a lot better at the game than I am today!

  21. I've not slept in about 21 hours! No real reason, just having one of my weird stints. 😆 I'll likely crash in the next couple hours.

  22. Famicom Detective Club on the Switch is definitely worth the wait.

The games are good. Really good.

And the new modern graphics are good, too. Every character has little subtle motions and their clothing and hair blows in the wind dynamically. No static character models here. They really look alive.

    Definitely recommend.

  23. Ive been making our second horror/comedy movie this last month in the Smoky Mountain Chronicles series, and this weekend I have off, so I wanted to do a bunch of Atari 7800 articles that I have back logged for www.Atari7800Forever.com before I get busy for the next month while we finish it.

I already posted about this featurette about Muddyfunsters games, but its worth a second mention. Plus there's a graphic from one of his games with my name on it, so I wanted to brag:

I reviewed Space Duel after playing the arcade version and the 7800 version for an hour on break this week

I look into getting into the backstory about that mysterious Atari Championship title belt I was gifted last month. I was given a wrestling belt years ago, and it ended up being very valuable. Can lightning strike twice?

    Thanks for giving a crap,

    Love,
