Playing Pac Man on my friends 5200 was one of the greatest moments of my life.

5200 Pac Man was indeed awesome.

I remember playing Pac Man on the Atari Computers and deciding it was time to upgrade from the 2600.

They should have included BOTH Pole Position 2 AND Ms. Pac Man!  Booyah.

As some of you know, I believe that Pole Position II was a poor choice to be the pack-in for the 7800. It was an okay game, but it didn't have the mass appeal like Super Mario on the NES did. I believe Ms. Pac-Man was the obvious choice from the early titles. It's a great port and was one of the most popular arcade games of all time.

Some may disagree, but now I have PROOF!!!!

This is from issue 85 of EGM with a cover date of August, 1996:

Did you read that? It says that Ms. Pac-Man was a top 20 title on the Sega Genesis in sales
And because of it's popularity, they where porting Ms. Pac-Man to the SNES
And this was at a time when the Playstation, Saturn and N64 were battling

So basically, a decade after the 7800 came out, Ms. Pac-Man was showing it's strength on the Genesis and SNES.

Can you name any other classic title that was doing that? I didn't find any articles about PP II racing away on the Genesis and bringing in the sales.

I'm not saying it would've made the 7800 anywhere near the level of the NES, but I wouldn't be surprised if it would've double 7800 system sales potentially leading to more games being made for the system and possibly a longer life.

    Case closed

I second this, the second level sucks and I hate the fact you don't have a jump button. I came in at 100 below Dauber at 6100; no pics yet because I honestly feel like I can get a better score if I can grit my teeth and play enough. I'll probably play a few more rounds to see how high I can get, but give me 2600 DK any day of the week over this game. At least that game has a jump button!

I've been steaming a few episodes on Netflix, and I'm honestly pleasantly surprised.

I think we're about to start Ep 6, and here's my pros and cons.

    Pros:
Set is perfect, feels like home.  Theme music is perfect. Riffing is still good, this is key of course.   Characters are mostly true to form (see cons) A positive change in trying to make sure riffs don't cover movie dialogue. (Yes, some of us do want to keep up with the movie) Crow's new voice is almost spot on. Patton Oswalt Cons:
Gypsy.  Not digging her voice at all.  (also is that an ice chest she puts down at the beginning of the movie and picks up at the end?) Tom Servo isn't familiar to me, and he used to be my favorite.  Bringing me to my next point On MST3K I could tell which riffs were coming from which robot and/or host by the nature of the riff.   They had definite, distinct personalities.  I'm not feeling that yet with this one.  Maybe it will come in time. I'm a big fan of Felicia Day, but she wasn't quite won me over as Kinga yet.  Lastly, the movie selection hasn't been great so far.  Mostly the lower end of average rather than truly horrible. I'm happy it's back, I think it will get even better as they go on.  Thoughts?

well, the results are in and it turns out it is....

Lol, naturally most of what we discuss in the retro community is based on opinions. But that's also what makes being a part of the community so fun!

Argg. This game has one of the hardest second levels in the history of games. Each jump has to be perfect and you don't even have a jump button. There were a few times I walked right over the edge of a ledge. I actually find the third level easier than the second.

Oh well. After several tries, here's my best game.

You have to wonder if Kangaroo would have been as popular had 2600 Donkey Kong not been as awful as it was.
