  1. I understand, and I'm totally onboard for this type of DIY kit. Hopefully, and easy-to-follow, illustrated guide is also part of the plan.
  2. I think this is awesome. My main thought is that I'd probably just send my 7800 to you to do the mod.
  3. Where were you May 18, 1980?

I would have been finishing up kindergarten. Being that it happened on a Sunday I was most likely spending time with my grandma.

I was 8 years old and remember seeing on tv at my babysitter's house.

  4. I've been thinking about it, but I'm not sure I want a keyboard/mouse in my living room. Is there an alternative? Like a virtual keyboard or something?
  5. I assume you mean load Windows or Linux on the VCS? That is probably above my pay grade.
  6. OK, I've got it working on both the VCS and MAME. I like the MAME version a little better because I can use a mouse, which is an "okay" substitute for the trackball. First score is 15,669
  7. Thank you for pointing this out! I didn't think to look there. That will make participation a lot easier.
  8. There's something in the game that shoots guided missiles at me right around that 3,500 point that kills me every time. It's so sad, I never even see what fires it -- never see it coming until it's too late.
  9. As they say in baseball, "you went to the well too early". I'm terrible at this game. But it's fun anyway.
  10. Great job @Atari 5200 Guy and everyone else too. Some really incredible scores. I just want to remind everyone that patch scores don't require the A/A difficulty switches. My guess is that if we did b/b, you guys would have passed the score. We had several people pass the test over in the "Patch-worthy scores" thread.
  11. Here we go. A few pictures of my setup for you. Sadly, my mouse isn't working too well (vertically). I need to clean it and also get a mouse pad I think.
  12. I will get back to you once I get the ST out and working. I did get the tub out as you see in the pic. But first, I need to get the Dreamcast back in the original box, which I recently found while cleaning stuff up. Finding that box is very exciting to me. I'm so glad I kept it. As for selling or not, I will give it a chance first. I also have an Amiga. It makes no sense to keep both. Too much stuff! I'd rather have the space and peace of mind back. In the last year, I've sold and Atari 800 and an Aquarius and do not miss them one bit. Anyway, more pictures to come once I get the time to get the ST out.
  13. The PC doesn't really give a good option other than dual sticks (at least that I could find). I was trying to see if I could do just a simple "shoot in the direction I move", but no go. You can do mouse that way, but it's super awkward.
  14. Not me. Is it worth the time? I think I watched a few episodes of season 1 but didn't really like it.
  15. The hand cramps are real. And why is it so hard to memorize the pattern at this age? 2 down, 2 up, 2 down, 3 up, did my phone just ring? <CRASH!>
  16. I almost always die now when the "all-bees" portion starts right at about 3,000 points.
  17. I'm kind of in the same boat as you as far as the ST. I like it very much, but I think I've decided to sell mine. I just don't use it that often. Given that, my favorite games are the remake of Star Raiders, Buggy Boy, and Lemmings. I need to try more. And maybe we can do that here....play some "new-to-us" games together before I sell mine. Every time I play games on the ST, I find it to be very reminiscent of the Sega Genesis. There must be some connection in the hardware. The games just have that same look-and-feel of Genesis. Maybe it's just me. My ST has a GoTek drive in it, meaning I'm completely dependent on images. And I have a bunch. I also have a small collection of commercial games on disk. But since I don't have a working floppy drive anymore, they are useless to me.
  18. I can understand the excitement. I'm usually asleep by 10pm no matter if I try to stay up or not...I've been known to be found asleep in my La-Z-Boy with a remote in my hand.... So my wife and I watch either Thurs or Friday evening.
  19. I agree. The move back to the episodic formula is so refreshing. And all of the character-building -- it really feels like they are creating something special. There was a lot to like in episode 2, but I think my favorite part was the Enterprise evasive maneuvers. We never really got to see those kind of effects in TOS or TNG. I feel like it was very believable.
  20. The ultra-rare photograph of the port side of the large Enterprise model. You can see the wiring used to light the ship.
