My number 1 VCS/2600 will always be the Sears Tele-Games Heavy 6'r, because that was my first console.

It's funny you say that about the Sears models because mine would always get weird looks and I remember feeling like somehow I had less of a console after going to all my friends that had light 6'r or 4 switch models. Their consoles looked sleek and modern where mine looked bulky and in a way like I was given a cheap alternative. Over time I felt different. I thought mine was much better built and solid (and it was). Mine was an American product. Last, mine had a look of class. And after all id did the EXACT same thing as all the others. Mine was just the odd ball of the bunch. Maybe because I am the only one I knew that had the Sears version at the time!!!!

My first love!!!!! If this is not what you call sexy, I don't what is.

I bought 4 boxed Atari games from Dauber.  They were shipped promptly and packed well.  :thumb:   Two thumbs up.

Vader.  I have one that's composite modded.  Which makes it double favorite. Gemini.  It's small and has the best RF signal. Jr.  Small makes it better. Light sixer.  It's all about the easy to use difficulty switches.  Heavy is overrated.  4 port woody - this is the one I had growing up. Heavy.
As for Sears models...I love em.  Cool looking silver highlights and fancy "burled" wood grain.

I totally agree about the 2800. It is a very slick console. Even the packaging was amazing. It is no wonder that the 2800 console was used as the basis for the 7800 design. With the exception of the branding, the Sears Video Arcade II is essentially the same console and is much more readily available. If you don't mind it saying "Sears", it's well worth it.

Purchased these from dauber.  They are awesome.  I love the Indy 500 big box.

Of the released systems I like the Atari 2600 Vader and the Atari 2600 Jr. My favorite Atari 2600, and possibly my favorite looking video game system of all time, is the Atari 2700 Remote Control Video Computer System

My Flashback is quickly becoming #1 just for the convenience. but I'm gonna go with the Vader as well.
I love the size and design of the Jr, but the switches are kinda funky.

Would it be cheating if I said the best 2600 is the 7800? Not sure if it counts or not, but I've been using my flashback portable a lot. I'm thinking about bringing it with me on my trip in a few weeks. But if I had to choose just the original release stuff, it would be any non 2600 Jr, the 6er is the best. Also, does the coco expansion count as well? They really gave Atari a run for the money on that one.

This is a tough one. I love the aesthetics of both the Jr. and the Vader but not their native RF output. The Atari branded light sixer and 4-switch woody are about the same to me. I am not very fond of the Heavy. I will agree with MaximumRD that there is something appealing about the Sears variants - both the original and the Sears Video Arcade II. Of course, I grew up with a Gemini so it has a place in my heart.

All that being said, if I had to pick now, I would say that a pristine Sears 4-switch wins it for me. There is something about the white and chrome bezel with the dark wood finish that is at once garish and appealing. If the Jr had better video, it would be top of my list purely from a design perspective.

Your stove is beautiful.  Looks very stylish AND functional.  And I like your tile floor too.

Our house is modern, so a nice stove like that wouldn't really fit.  But I do have a funny stove story.  When we bought our house, we were the second owners, and the house was about 5 years old.  One of the burners on the stove was broken.  My wife wanted a new stove, but we really couldn't afford it since we just bought a house.  Well, I fixed it pretty easily with some new insulated wiring.  Since then, that stove has broken, and I've fixed it many times.  Broken ignitor.  Fixed.  Cracked gas line.  Fixed.  Broken drawer.  Fixed.  My wife has wanted a new stove...but that one still works!  One of these days, she'll get her wish.  But I think the sides will need to fall off that old stove first.

A similar topic posted on AA I thought was worth sharing.

Well, some I have never had or likely WILL have so going by what I have in order of preference - 4 Switch Woody / VADER MODEL (Love Woodgrain but there is something about that black model) / Sears Video Arcade II.

For models I do not have well of course Original Heavy Sixer followed by the Sears Heavy than 4 Switch.

It is funny because I distinctly recall back in the day if you had a SEARS version as opposed to a Atari Labelled model you were an outcast of sorts   Today I LOVE the SEARS variants of Atari and Intellivision consoles!

Here's a few pictures of our 1952 O'keefe & Merritt stove. O'keefe & Merritt were a Los Angeles based manufacturer and these stoves were fairly popular on the West Coast. They came in a range of models and colors. The cool thing about these is that the design was heavily inspired by the U.S. auto industry of the day with chrome, dials, ornate emblems and the like. This is a larger model. It looks like it has two ovens but the left side is actually something called a "Grillavator." It is a grill like contraption where you raise whatever you are cooking upward to a flame in the ceiling of the compartment. It also come fully featured with a light, outlet, integrated salt & pepper shakers and a griddle (center chrome piece).

We've had the stove - which we call "Babz" - for about five years. When we bought our house - a 1920s craftsman - it had an ugly stove that didn't fit the mostly original kitchen. My wife and I had always loved these and thought it would be a good fit. Unfortunately, they are usually either cheap and in bad condition or completely restored and more than a new stove. After some sticker shock at area vintage stops and a few WTF moments with private sellers from Craigslist we were about to give up when, finally, I found our stove on eBay from a local seller. The guy I bought it from was moving to a new build and this old gal wasn't going to fit in an ultra modern kitchen. It had been fully restored just five years prior with the receipts to back it up. After some back and forth, I went to meet him. He delisted it on eBay and we agreed on a very fair price. He even threw in his old white refrigerator, which we also needed.

Very few people restore/work on these old stoves. A few years ago we met someone who restores them at a swap meet and kept his card just in case. This week the oven quit heating. When the guy gets here, he took one look at the stove and says "I restored this 10 years ago. Rechrome and porcelain. It's a 1952 model." We talked about how we got it and he said he was glad to see it kept up, in use and in a good home. Anyway, he did a full service, replaced the thermal-coupler for the main oven and checked temperature. It's working again like a charm.

Do you have an old stove or oven? Did you grow up with something like it in your home? If so, post it here and share your story.

Kind of.  You shoot robots and bats, with the added strategy of having to reload your gun with bullets after 3 shots.  It's a great game on INTV, especially when you use both controllers at the same time (one to move, one to shoot).
