RickR got a reaction from Justin in End Label Sets for Multiple Systems
I can respect that. Maybe add a small "Reproduction label by mbergeron" to them. Have you seen some of the labels out here man? They look like a dump truck ran over them in a dirt factory.

I've got a cousin in upstate New York that you can ship to so no real worries there.

Oh man, those look good. Let me know when the Atari 8-bit labels are available!

Another suggestion (I don't know if you want suggestions...don't take this the wrong way....I think your stuff looks great!) would be replacement 2600 Activision labels. You know how the originals get all gunked up. Or replacement Parker Brothers labels (for whatever reason, the originals seem to fall off and get torn).

Hey Everyone!
I make high quality vinyl label sets for many different systems. You can find them on ebay and etsy but you can also order them directly from me for cheaper! I'm happy to sell but also love trades!
Sets I currently have are:
Vectrex GCE Set - 28 labels, every original release plus multicart label. - $18 shipped in North America
Vectrex MB Set - 28 labels, every original release plus multicart label. - $18 shipped in North America
Sega 32X Set - 34 labels, every original release for all regions. - $18 shipped in North America
Nintendo 64 Set - 310 labels, North American set plus extra labels for cart variants. - $40 shipped in North America
Atari 5200 Set - 55 labels, North American set of games that don't already have end labels. - $25 shipped in North America
Atari Jaguar Set - 49 labels, every original release - $30 shipped in North America
Future sets I have planned are Atari XE and Atari Computer. Open to other suggestions as well!
Some info on these labels (copied from my N64 ebay listing but they apply to all of them):
Many other sellers claim to have the best set available, let me tell you why mine actually are! These are the absolute best labels that money can buy!
- These are designed to look like professional Nintendo brand end labels, like NES and SNES they are HALF CART labels which means you can open your cartridges to clean or change batteries without damaging the labels! No one else does this!
- They match other Nintendo carts so they look great on a shelf with your NES and SNES carts.
- They are made with waterproof vinyl and stand up to cleaning better than the N64 face labels! Great for when your kids or your friends dirty your games with their Doritos covered fingers.
- You can clean these with a Magic Eraser and they won’t fade. They will even stand up to mild rubbing alcohol cleaning!
- Each label is precision cut to fit EXACTLY in the gap between the N64 cartridge grooves. These labels aren’t a stock size that you can buy in a store. Very professional looking and easy to apply.

I have always known about several unreleased and / or vaporware consoles and hardware but I recently stumbled onto this one I had never heard of and so for any of you who are interested in such things and might not know check it out. Here is a link to the story ( an Interview with Yukiharu Sambe, R&D manager of the unreleased Taito WOWOW ) on Unseen 64's site -

RickR reacted to Clint Thompson in The worst system to code for...
Found this online today and even though it's a small tidbit, it does make a lot of sense:
"You've coded on a lot of different systems. Which ones did you think were the worst and best, in terms of hardware implementation, development environment, manufacturer tech support (for developers)....?
Rebecca Heineman: The worst had to be the Atari Jaguar. Forcing everyone to use an Atari Falcon as a dev system and expecting us to use bug ridden and barely working compilers and other tools, it was a miracle any game was completed on that system. Best? The Apple II in it's simplicity. I loved programming the Apple II and then the IIgs, although the IIgs was really slow without an accelerator (Which was likely a marketing decision to force people to buy Macintosh computers). Dev environment? CodeWarrior! I wrote so many plug ins to allow me to use numerous scripting tools, it's a shame it's all but abandoned today, and at least Visual Studio is in a state today that it's my IDE of choice. Tech support? It was 3DO, they did everything they could including sending me at their expense to get training on making code on their platform and going out of their way to make sure I got my games out the door. Pity, their business model wasn't sustainable." Source: http://ask.fm/burgerbecky/answer/128965555885 Truth be told, the idea of coding and/or completely developing on the Falcon does seems kind of insane, especially considering the extremely limited software available for the Falcon at the time... nevermind the fact that they just completely dropped it only after a year anyway. I completely understand what Atari was trying to do or ultimately wanted to do... create an eco-system where the Falcon was necessary to create games for the Jaguar on and push sales of their computers with hope that software would flourish and soon follow. Obviously there were a ton of other issues preventing that vision from materializing. That same year the Pentium was released, software options alone would quickly overule any chance of using the Falcon as a standalone development workstation viable, nevermind the obvious speed difference the Pentium chips offered. -

If you see something you need, but don't have anything to trade, I'm sure reasonable offers will not be refused!

Guys, Mrs. Rowsdower's hat is a piece of art. So nice that putting it on my ugly head and taking a picture that way would only detract from it's awesomeness.
Oh, and something about a couple of games. But mostly it's about the hat.

RickR reacted to StormSurge in Kay-Bee Memories
I bought more Star Wars figures in the 90s from Kay Bee than I did video games.
When I think of Kay Bee, I get a pit in my stomach. I vividly remember walking to my local shopping plaza, sometime in the fall of 1989. I bought a couple of tapes at Bradlees & remember walking around Kay Bee. I was 16 at the time & while I was a huge NES player, I wasn't really into toys that much.
I can only imagine how many great 2600 games I walked past. How many vintage Star Wars figures/playsets, etc. that I didn't even give a second thought. Ugh...

Here's mine:
In high school, I applied for a summer job at Kay Bee. I ended up making the last cut, but they ended up hiring a really pretty girl from my school instead. DANG IT! I can't blame them.
I also remember that Kay Bee was THE place to get the bargain bin games after the crash in 1983. ET, Krull, and a bunch of other games I got from there were only $2.
