RickR reacted to John Behnke in Chicago TImes Newsletter
I have started work on our Super Summer Edition of the Chicago TImes Newsletter. This newsletter is larger than normal and takes the place of the June-July-August Editions.
So with all this extra space I need stuff to put in them. If anyone is selling TI related hardware/software and would like a free 1/2 page ad, please forward the ad to me. I'm also looking for articles and game/program reviews of both new or old software. If you're not great at writing, no worries as I'll clean it up for you if needed.
Please forward any material you wish to submit to: chicago.ti994a.usersgroup@gmail.com
Thanks!

RickR reacted to TrekMD in Star Trek: Lower Decks
Sadly, this series will air its final season later this year. It's been a fun ride. Looking forward to the final season!

RickR got a reaction from Mr SQL in Are you... OLD? You are if you recognize these... (add your own).
I still have a BigTrak, and that water-pressure-rocket always ended up on the garage roof next to the frisbee.

RickR got a reaction from DegasElite in Evercade VS System
I believe so! I don't know for sure since I don't have a VS or EXP....but I know those two have a "Library" app that shows all of the titles released, and that they've just updated a couple of those to "Legacy" status.
On-line release notes don't show a date, but I suspect the latest one is very recent.

Do folks think Blaze will release a VS Refresh this year? I know I can connect my EXP to a display, but the appeal of using a dedicated controller is a strong appeal of the VS.

I had a similar issue with (of all things) the Xbox 360. The only solution that worked for me was to add a guest network on the router. The Xbox connected to that just fine. I do not know if this will work with your Evercade VS, but it may be worth a try.

RickR got a reaction from RobertLM78 in Remember GEOS for the Apple II series of computers?
I'm pretty sure I owned a copy of Atari GEOS back in the day. Maybe it was some other graphical interface. But I'm pretty sure it was GEOS. I still have the disks somewhere.

Vectrex UV overlay and light kit. The pics don’t do this justice.

S5, E2 - Ah, that was much better. They toned down the action (and yelling). What was here made more sense.
I enjoyed this episode much more.

RickR got a reaction from DegasElite in PLAION Announces the 400 Mini
Yes it does. As mentioned prior. USB keyboard support is there, and also a virtual keyboard. You can load basic and program as you see fit. However, it is not known if you can save or not. My guess is yes, but it will be a bit convoluted. You'd load a DOS image from the USB memory stick and be able to save to that.
If I recall correctly, the C64 mini allowed this (the ability to save to a disk image on USB).

The cart ports would be pretty awesome for sure! It does have the ability to run images from a USB memory stick though. Just like the C64 and Amiga versions.
It is also missing a real keyboard, but that is solved by attaching a USB keyboard. Not ideal, but it does work. (And there is also a virtual keyboard).
The other real con with this is that you *must* use that controller it includes to get access to all the features (like virtual keyboard). Although other USB controllers will work, the button mapping is hit and miss.

This is EXCELLENT news. I have the C64 and Amiga mini and they are both awesome. I think I'll be a buyer for this.
