I recently purchased a FB2 that has the cartridge port added.  It's pretty nice.  Really good picture quality and a tiny footprint.

No.  Those were easy sales.  Good luck, though.  I've never seen any in the wild.  Ebay was the only option for finding them for me.

I agree.  I had one and sold it.  The games are hard to find, and since they are all for kids...it just sat collecting dust for me.  But they are really cool.

Update:  I left the Vectrex "off" for over 24 hours.  Plugged it in, and it fired up instantly.  I'm beginning to believe it's the switch that's gummed up, and a recap is not necessary.  I think I'll move on to leaving it off for several days as the next test.

I should mention that I have my original full set of "Atari Age" magazines.  Those ones are too worn out to sell.  And I cannot throw them out.  So those ones, I'll keep.  I think I have a few other odds and ends all in the same crate.  A few old "Compute!", some "Mad" from the 80's, and those Atari Age.

Not me.  I used to.  But I sold them all.  They take up a lot of space.

While I do not currently (at least intentionally) collect any gaming magazines I used to, boy did I ever lol. Various video gaming and computer magazines because of course many of those early computers were something we SAID we wanted for "school work" but really wanted for the videogames. As far back as I can recall I would say I really started with Electronic Gamines Magazine in the early 80's which I thought was a brilliant magazine, by the way some nice online digital archives can be found here:
    http://www.digitpress.com/library/magazines/electronic_games/electronic_games.htm
    and HERE:
    https://archive.org/search.php?query=Electronic%20Games

I suspect like many, who could not afford many videogames it was delightful to pour through these magazines and dream. OF COURSE they would help to ignite our imagination and anticipation with various articles and images and give us some insight we pretty much could not get anywhere else. Taking them to school and comparing and discussing with our fellow gaming friends what sounded like the next or current cool video game or accessory was always great fun. I would wear those magazines out from wear reading them over and over. There were of course other magazine or articles in typically non gaming publications wanting to give their opinion on this new powerful wave of entertainment (often not flattering as that nonsense started early) as well there were offshoots and one off magazines that were mostly forgotten or quickly discontinued. Of course after the rise of the mighty originally 8 bit Nintendo there was a resurgence in the video-games scene and revised and new publications to reflect that. I would go on to collect many of the usual suspects like GamePro, various dedicated Sega / Nintendo / Amiga Computer magazines. Eventually covering all the 8 bit and then following up with all the 16bit era. I was still reading and collecting when the new powerful consoles hit, I had collected many Dreamcast magazines as well.

Most of my collection was lost or given away over the years stupidly now that I think back on it, I have of course Gigabytes of various gaming magazine related PDF's sitting on the hard drives. A few years back though through various videogame and computer acquisitions through my collecting phase I would end up with a video game or computer magazine here and there, usually an issue I had read many years prior but still, I admit there is something so nostalgic as the retro games themselves, so fun to read through them with the fresh eyes and excitement many of the articles and images gave you and to remember looking at them the first time and wondering what it would be like to play them yourself first hand! Good times and a huge part of the history, memories, preservation of the video games era right from the start.

Telematch, which was a partnermag of Electronic Games, Happy Computer, PowerPlay, Video Games, Man!ac [sic!], Mega Fun, Fun Generation, Next Level and so on. And for sure many Amiga magazines like the Amiga Special, Amiga Magazin an of course the Amiga Joker, which still has many fans until today!

Just realized I hadn't actually posted any photos from my Intelly collection here. I haven't taken any recent ones in about 2 years, but at least these pics are still pretty representative of the games I have at least. Only things added you don't see in these pics are my LTO flash I've got now a few other loose carts like Backgammon I picked up about a month ago, and my copy of Sydney Hunter.

Here is a pic of my boxed CIB Intelly games here. They are in the middle in this pic. There are few others as well on the next shelf down to the far left that are obscured by the Genesis shelf but you get the idea...

Here is my loose intellivision games. They are in the lower right of this pic. If you look closely you can just make out my cib DINER there.

This is really the only pic I have of my Intelly consoles. The Sears unit is av modded and has a normal 2609 main board in it as the original board was bad. Also not shown in this pic is that I added an amber colored power LED indicator to my Sears model. Besides that one, I also have a Tandyvision One, Intv III, and Intellivision II systems. Really...REALLY want the GTE/Sylvania model though to complete the console collection side of it.

Submitting my score before I forget, and it probably will be my final score for the contest. I tried putting together another run this past Sunday, and I ended up rage quitting. I understand this game a bit better now, but I still hate it!

Well, well, well, look who decided to come back to life.  Phew!  What a relief.

Here's what I did.  I know (and thank you to dauber for reminding me again) that there is high voltage driving the tube of a vectrex.  But I went ahead and carefully removed the back.  There was a LOT of dust within.  I was very careful not to touch anything.  I carefully placed the open Vectrex in my driveway and blew out the dust as best I could with compressed air.  I looked very carefully at the boards -- there was no obvious capacitor issue (no bulging, no leaking, no discoloration).

I wasn't able to get all the dust off.  There is a very fine layer that is stuck on the board and components.  I think it would take actual scrubbing to get it off.

But anyways, I put the back cover back on, plugged it in, and heard a hum!  The sound came on about a minute later.  And the screen flicked on 10 minutes later.  That screen delay is normal for this Vectrex since I've owned it.

I have a theory that it may be the on/off switch itself that causes the delay.  As an experiment, I've left the on/off knob "on", and turned the power off with a power strip switch.  Since yesterday, the Vectrex has turned on immediately every time using the power strip switch.  Next step is to leave it off for several days to see if that still holds true.  If this fails, then I know a capacitor replacement is necessary.  But if it succeeds, then I can either leave the console as-is or figure out how to take apart and clean the on/off/volume switch.

Back to the fine layer of dust.  I need advice.  I'd like to get the dust off.  If I left the Vectrex off for a month, would the voltage be discharged enough to carefully remove the dust with a soft toothbrush?  How to discharge the tube if that's necessary?  Should I just leave well enough alone?

So my mom has a friend who worked at a TRU distribution. With the closure of the stores, she lost her job as the distribution warehouses closed as well. She knew I used to go there quite often and she gave me this the other day.

This shirt is pretty cool. Made me think of all the times I went there as a kid.
