I'm currently in the middle of writing a book called "The Unauthorized Atari 2600 Homebrew Companion - Volume 1". I am writing it based on the same style as Michael D Salzman's Atari books - currently available on Amazon https://www.amazon.com/s/ref=dp_byline_sr_book_1?ie=UTF8&text=Michael+D+Salzman&search-alias=books&field-author=Michael+D+Salzman&sort=relevancerank , in the same look and feel of the 80's video game books - black and white print in the small digest size book.
For each homebrew game title, I am listing the following info:
- Release Notes
- Gameplay
- Options
- Controls
- Scoring
- Design
- Strategy
- Analysis
- along with 2 screenshots of each game
(possibly picture of cartridge label - if there is room for it, I have about 4 pages for each title to work with)
I have the first 30 or so titles chosen for volume 1 (about 11 titles are already written), along with a definitions page, and will be adding a "What is a homebrew?" explanation section at the beginning of the book.
Is there something I'm missing? Or something that you would like to see contained it in??
This is my first ever attempt at writing a book and if it wasn't for Michael, I wouldn't even be entertaining a thought of this type of project!
Thanks for any info!
Brian

I just got the PS1 game "Kurt Warner's Arena Football Unleashed" and compared it to the unfinished Arena Football '95...... its the same game, but finished. And whats funny is on Arena Football '95, there's no extra point play (after touchdown). I figured they didn't get a chance to program it into the game. Now playing the Kurt Warner version, there never was going to be an extra point play...LOL!

Trying to win on a technicality eh? He said Supercharger in the description so I didn’t see the need to state it in my answer. :-P
Yeah, whatever it takes

The Unauthorized Atari 2600 Arcade Companion Volume 2 is soon nearing completion and Michael is asking for submissions of your favorite Atari arcade ported game....
"Hi all! This is a chance to have your opinion and name immortalized in the second volume of my new book The Unauthorized Atari 2600 Arcade Companion Volume 2 which will be available for purchase in a few weeks. The book provides information and analysis on another 32 games on the 2600 that were ported from the arcade."

I currently have volume 1 coming from Amazon (held up in the mail over Christmas holiday), but got his first book, The Unauthorized Atari 2600 Sports Almanac: 38 Sports Video Games That Defined A Generation and my high scores are printed in the back of the book. BTW, it is a very well written book with a lot of details of each and every game title. Some stuff I didn't even know about.

Got a wonderful surprise under the tree this year from the Shah himself. Thank you Justin for the great gift, and may the rest of your Christmas break be merry and bright.
