  2. My sixth book was just released yesterday and is now available thru Amazon! The Atari 2600 Homebrew and Hacks Checklist books are now available in full color or black and white paperbacks.

"The Atari 2600 is alive and well, with new games being released all the time through the power of Homebrew! The Atari 2600 Homebrew and Hacks Checklist book covers all titles released on cartridge over the past 25 years (1995-2020) for Atari’s legendary console. Inside this book, you will find every title listed in a checklist form to keep track of your collection. Each title has pertinent information about the release with the programmer, publisher, original price, quantity made and so much more. From the first homebrews like SoundX, Edtris (1995), Okie Dokie, Stell-A-Sketch, Cubis, Tetris26 (1996) to the latest and greatest releases like Zoo Keeper, Avalanche, Tower of Rubble, Venture Reloaded (2020) are covered in this checklist book. This edition is in full color on white paper and contains 150 pages covering every release for the VCS/2600 console. Cartridge labels are pictured after every letter chapter to show the differences between releases over the past 25+ years."

My plan is to have an updated checklist book every year (by Christmas) with the latest and greatest Atari 2600 homebrew releases all added within the current book.

I have the other two and I will be getting this one.  Will there be a deluxe color version of this volume?

If the demand is there for it..... still would be $30.99 for color issue.

A very good day yesterday.  I found a bunch of good stuff as seen below.

    2060528506_thriftstore001.thumb.JPG.9ea577f131306dbff9dc7c79e339456b.JPG

The Imagic games were a really lucky find, as I had those two games' boxes in very bad shape and with no plastic insert.  So I created my own cardboard inserts and cleaned them up as best I could.  And now I've got 5 boxed Imagic titles.

You got the QVC Activision 10-in-1 TV Games Plug-n-Play controller (QVC exclusive grey) that was first offered back in 2001!  Nice score - too bad you didn't get the generic box it came in too.

Really nice Imagic boxes there too!

I thought I'd do a quick write up on the Atari Flashback 9, which has two features that make it VERY worthwhile.

    • It has an SD card slot (to load any game file you like)
    • It has HDMI output (razor sharp video on a flatscreen TV)

These two features work really nicely.  I am getting great output on my flatscreen (my pictures don't do it justice).  And we have all been clamoring for a 2600 that uses an SD card slot.  It does use emulation, but I think it's really well done.  I haven't noticed any sound or graphics glitches.

I want to thank Arenafoot for his flashback portable gamepack (available from the AtariAge forums), as that's what I used on mine.  There is one small quirk I should mention.  The Flashback 9 won't load a file if there is a space in the filename.  I used a batch file renamer program to remove spaces from all of the files in Arenafoot's pack.  And BOOM, they all work.

I bought mine used on ebay.  I think you can get them new for $60 or so on Amazon.  IMO, avoid the "Gold" version.  It comes with "wireless" controllers and I don't like the lag those introduce, plus they have to be aimed at the console.

This product is made by atgames.  In this case (and also with the portable), they deserve a lot of credit and praise.  I really feel that this is an outstanding product.

    Thanks for the shout out!

I bought my Flashback 9 HDMI from my Dollar General during the Amazon Prime days for half price! It is awesome! The HDMI output and the SD card slot make it the best AtGames Atari Flashback console to date. Not sure if the upcoming AtGames Atari Flashback X (which will look more like the wood version of the VCS - silver switches and all) will have the SD card slot or not.

Ah thanks Justin, sorry I honestly did not see Arenafoot's posting. DOH! Well, just shows we all want to make sure everyone is informed and aware!

My understanding though just to update is it is NOT playable on a Harmony Cart? At least a couple people over on AA said it is a no go. Still, emulation

is fine and cool to finally be able to experience a game most of us never would have otherwise. 🍻

I guess I could have put it in the Atari 2600 forum instead of the homebrew forum, though its a prototype and not a homebrew. I'm just used to covering homebrews and hacks. 😉

  10. Yes! The last missing Atari released game has now been dumped and is playable on Stella 6.0.1!! Pursuit of Pink Panther from Probe 2000 (1983) has been released!

Game instructions can be found here: http://www.atariprotos.com/2600/software/pinkpanther/pinkpanther.htm

    Enjoy!!

    UPDATE: Pink Panther works on:

Stella 6.0.1 or 6.0.2 (claims Stella 4.0 or higher work)

    Retron 77 console

    does NOT work on:

    Harmony cart

    Harmony Encore cart

    UNO cart

    Atari Flashback Portable
