This is one of my all-time favorite games on an Atari system! Never thought about playing it with a 2600 Joystick though, I'm gonna have to try that out.

Thoughts: Where would the collector world be without clear plastic tubs?

I think that this will be cool. I really want to know how much it will be and how to develop for it.

Hey all: Today was the day for the Cowlitz Gamers for Kids show in Longview, WA. That's about 50 miles away for me, so I decided to go. And here are some pics to share.
It's a great cause, but the show is pretty small. They're in a new space this year, and it seems much smaller than when I went a few years ago. No arcade games to play was kind of a bummer. But they had some really nice sellers, which was fun.
This was the free-play area. No real exotic systems, and it was pretty small this year.
An overview of the booths. Lots of cool stuff here. There was one Jaguar for sale ($150! A little too rich for me), a Vectrex, and bunch of the more modern Nintendo stuff. Good deals on systems. A boxed Odyssey 2 for $40. Atari 2600's for $50. Sega Genesis seems like the low point of collecting these days...$10-$20 will get you a nice Genesis at a show like this. Find a show like this if you want a particular system!
Trophies for the Super Smash Bros Brawl (Gamecube) tournament.
WOAH! Look what I found. Yes, I did come home with it.
Atari carts can still be found. Which is good.
More overview
Atari Pinball! That knob is exactly the same as the VCS paddle knob. Nope, I didn't buy it.
Someone decked out a VCS in pirates' booty for the silent auction. Very cool. Reminded me of the Swordquest prizes.
More Atari stuff. Good. Can't let Nintendo have all the fun.
Action figures too.
It was a good show. I didn't stay long thanks to a sudden migraine. Plenty of fun.

So it's not just clear Atari Jaguar shells then, it's a new retro system? What games will they have? What makes it different?
-
Arenafoot reacted to Dan Iacovelli in Coleco Chameleon (formerly Retro VGS)
They will be using the shells for the new retro system, the clear shells he's selling will help fund the new RetroVGS system. I'm working on having mike come weds chat to talk more about it

ordered mine on 1/1/15 and got them on 1/9/15.....was missing a 2nd tower of doom overlay - so they sent me 2 of them, so I had no problems with them. Others that ordered them in early Dec 2014 are just getting their sets now since the site crashed sometime in Dec.

I have the same Video Pinball, it's a pretty fun game, but the box does rule!

Arenafoot reacted to The Professor in Nolan Bushnell tells the fascinating story behind ShowBiz Pizza Theft of Chuck E. Cheese Concept
There are other versions of the story and Nolan skips past the part about him hemorrhaging CEC/PTT money into creating Sente, but Robert Brock being the largest CEC/PTT franchisee, going through the whole franchise process and then going AWOL at the last minute is absolutely true. Not just per Nolan's story, but Gene Landrum's as well as the courts.

Went to my closest RadioShack (THAT IS NOT CLOSING) and spent the last $61 on my giftcard (+ $10 coupon that RS offers on their website) and got:
SanDisk 64 GB Flash Drive
SanDisk 32 GB micro SD card
LED Swiss Army Knife combo
and 2 Gold-Plated Phono-to-F Adapters to go with my Vader console and my Intellivision console.
So, of course I had to try the adapters. Played my 2 newest Atari 2600 carts: Fast Eddie & Eggomania! Also, played: Galaxian, Chopper Command and Dragster. Plus, I set a new all time personal best on Dragster at 6.54 sec!!
Happy Atari Day!!!!

For those of you who didn't know, before starting The Atari 7800 Game By Game Podcast, I started a retro reviews show on Youtube called the No Swear Gamer. I keep it clean, so it's safe for work and family. I'm over 100 episodes and still going. You can find my channel here:
https://www.youtube.com/channel/UChtJuo040EOCTVziObIgVcg
Some of my favorites include Reviews of Sewer Shark, The Colecovision and Intellivision Flashbacks (with footage from all 61 games!) and my big Atari 7800 lot unboxing.
