  1. I enter my 4th decade this weekend. That's right, the big Four-O. I guess I should spend it playing my favorite console from 1977. ;)

Happy birthday. 4-0 is a nice accomplishment. Enjoy yourself however you see fit.

Let's be honest, Atari and IPA time always sound nice. :)

39 minute lecture...and the last minute "...and if that doesn't work for you, here's a real motivator on any day - Atari Game Time!"

      Best. Speech. Ever.

  3. I just got a "broken" Sears Video Arcade 4-switch, boxed with 23 games, two controllers and paddles. I wonder if its really broken. Watch for pictures in the restoration threadlater this week...

  4. I just got a delivery notice for an Atari-related item. If I have time, I'll post an unboxing tonight. Look for it under Atari dedicated consoles. ;)

  5. I'm getting a lot more play time in with the bad weather. Only 79 Jaguar games to go to meet my goal for 2017! Check out the blog here: http://forums.atari.io/index.php/blog/12-atarilbcs-gaming-notebook/

  6. I'm not big into modern gaming but I really enjoy Bioware's work. Today I finally get to sink my teeth into DA:I.

Not big into modern gaming? You've come to the right place!

  7. I'm still here. It's been crazy with work, school and family the last few weeks. Expect updates to "Vs. Cartoon Intros" and my personal blog this weekend!

The Cybermorph post is up! I can't believe I started that in January. http://forums.atari.io/index.php/blog/12/entry-72-004-cybermorph/

Things have been busy for everybody. You're an important part of the forums, glad you are still here!

  8. I'm wrapping up the end of the independent study portion of my graduate program. I can see the finishline but with the due date approaching I'm hitting a wall. More than 100 pages in and I'm running out of words. I also really want to play Iron Soldier 2...Maybe an hour of play time for every two hours of writing until I'm done? That seems responsible.

That is what I was taught in college...let your mind have a break. You can actually overdo it.

Yeah, I think you guys are right. Maybe I should pick something a little more zen than IS2!

It's true outside of school too. At work, I've gotten stuck on a technical problem and stopped to go take a walk. And then while walking, BOOM...the answer just comes to me.

  9. It took the whole work week, but I'm finally feeling back in my own time zone. Nine hours is a tough adjustment.

  10. Just one more day to vote in the first match of "Vs. Cartoon Intros." Right now, Thundercats is looking at a clear win over Silverhawks. Vote now in the Retro Life sub-forum! http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/2827-vs-cartoon-intros/?do=findComment&comment=28349.

  11. Match 2 of Vs. Cartoon Intros is up with Robotech vs. Voltron. Cast your vote here: http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/2827-vs-cartoon-intros/?p=28445

  12. My 1950's stove just wiped out my gaming budget for a few months. Oh well, the damn thing looks like a Cadillac. Why do I love old stuff?

  13. My best friend - not a gamer - is in Tokyo on business. He wrote that he's popping into Super Potato to see if he can find something for me. Last year he brought me home a Famicom. I can't wait to see what he picks up this year.

It is a boxed and minty Japanese launch Saturn. Not rare but cool to have.

  14. My next class starts on 9/12. That means I'm back to my 40-50 hour work, full-time husband and father schedule. I will surely work both beer and Atari into my bonus waking hours. Cheers!

  15. National Drive Electric Week events all weekend! Do you EV?

  16. Never a company to shy away from a licensing deal, Atari, Inc. partners with Dynamite Entertainment to publish comics based on Atari properties. The deal also includes reprints of Atari Force. http://www.ign.com/articles/2015/07/06/atari-returns-to-comics-at-dynamite-entertainment

Thanks, Justin! I'm glad you liked it. I'm going to try to post more regularly moving forward. There are a lot of Jaguar games yet to go through!

Nice review atarilbc! I remember the first time reading that "Super Burnout" was coming out for the Jaguar, I misread it as "Super Breakout" and thought.. wow, really? :)

  17. Organizational theory or Secret Quest? Atari is the devil on my shoulder.

  18. Playing Rebooteroids!

  19. Playing World Tour Racing for Jaguar CD this morning. While it is generally better than Checkered Flag, I can't help but think it would have worked better as a 2D super scaler.

      He went too young.

Here's the thing about Harry Anderson. He was funny in a very sweet and kind way. Not an ounce of meanness in his public persona. And that's a rarity. Especially in comedy.

I grew up watching Night Court. Always liked Harry. Sad to hear another good one gone.
