🧠 PRO-TIP: Presales aren't allowed on Atari I/O. Even with the best intentions, sincere promises of "ready to ship in six months" many times become tumultuous as months turn into years or even a decade without fulfillment. Please wait until your product is ready to ship before soliciting sales in our Marketplace.

😎 What's great about the geek spirit is that life never seems to stop us, and they never seem to kill our enthusiasm, our optimism and our hunger to experience the world. We keep our sense of humor, we protect our dignity, we talk to our friends about the experience and then we start again fresh the very next day. - Paul Feig

🍕 🍕 🍍 Do pineapples belong on pizza?

I don't mind a few bites of pizza with pineapple and ham, but I don't think I could eat a full slice of it. It's good, but not that good in my opinion 🤓

I won't eat pizza any other way. Pepperoni and Pineapple on mine any day. They really go great together. Domino's Hawaiian Pizza? The bomb.

🕹️ 30 Years ago today I knowingly, wantonly, became a classic gamer:
-
@Neon Wraith Atari Lynx is hands down one of my favorite systems of all time, and an excellent starting point. The graphics are still good, it has a small but fantastic library of games, and it's provided me with 3 decades of enjoyment.

😎 A huge welcome to the Turbo family & congrats to @RickR for getting his first TurboGrafx-16!
-
It was the first time I've ever seen one at a show for a decent price. I feel very lucky! I sure do appreciate your enthusiasm Justin. I'm really hoping that Everdrive arrives before the high score challenge ends.

🙌 Even if your EverDrive doesn't arrive in time I'm certain this will continue in the Scoreboard forum, and with you able to participate I sense more Turbo Squad Challenges coming in the future pretty consistently

🕹️ Added "Atari Museum Archive" to the MORE Dropdown Menu under BROWSE in the Nav Bar at the top of the page. With one click you can easily access the most recent wayback archive of Curt Vendel's Atari Museum website. This is a stopgap measure until I can develop something more permanent.

📺 Added a cool ‘YouTube’ dropdown menu at the top of the page, hope you’ll check it out and enjoy‼️

@MaximumRD I'm glad you like what I did! Do you remember Rob, back when we were actively communicating on YouTube, tagging everyone in our videos and filming responses to Steve Benway, AtariLeaf, Mr. Intellivision etc.? This would've been around 2009-2010. I created a small website, it was like a little experiment called "The Daily Bomb" at getdevious.com/thebomb (it's long gone now) It was partially "The Onion / The Babylon Bee for Classic Gaming" with parody headlines etc, but the homepage had dropdown menus and hyperlinks to everything and everywhere interesting on line that had to do with classic gaming. There was even a page called "The Bomb Sixteen" with 16 of our favorite and most active Twitter feeds, all shown on one page. I really liked that "hub" idea, that someone could set us as their default home page whenever they open their browser and quickly link to everything interesting within the world of classic gaming. I'd like to incorporate more of that idea into Atari I/O moving forward. Maybe in some very big ways. I'm glad after all these years you're still out there creating content and that you're still you 😉🍻

💬 Added a dedicated "Status Updates" page to the nav menu, it's like our own little Twitter.

THANK YOU @RickR It's something I've wanted to add for a long time and something that should've been native to the site to begin with. They have value beyond showing the handful of "Recent Status Updates" on the right of the Forums home page. In a community our size we should be able to scroll through and see everybody's updates, going back longer than just a couple of days. I think a dedicated Status Updates page is overdue and will work out awesome.
-
Thanks @Sabertooth! Hope this gives us all more reason to post cool updates more frequently!

This is good to hear @Sabertooth. Feel free to pin this as a topic in Club VCS if you'd like. This land of hyped false narratives is exactly why I don't dive too deeply into this stuff outside of trusted sources who we know through Atari I/O or similar.

I guess one good thing that came from the erroneous/incomplete news is that a lot of people bought a VCS during the holidays, thinking either it would be their last chance or would be a collector item. Couple that with the awesome holiday sale on software, and I sure hope Atari got some great financial results during December.

@RickR Yes, let's hope! Atari has been doing a good job of listening to and respecting the hopes and dreams of their fans, and in my view when they make a sincere, authentic effort to do that they've earned our dollars. I hope they continue to do well!

🖖 Atari Age members are welcome here. Atari VCS players are welcome here. Young people just discovering the World of Atari are welcome here. Atari alumni are welcome here. Atari I/O is a Disney World of classic gaming - a place for people of all interests, ages and skill levels to gather and make friends discussing our favorite hobbies - and continuing the adventure of what comes NeXT.

I agree with this. Atari was about family and friends spending time together, it wasn't always about the games. Atari is how and why I learn how to be social. Doesn't matter where you are from, we are all here for the same reason. And we all need a break from life. So sit down, visit with people on here, and enjoy a good game. It doesn't even have to be an Atari game. Whatever game you want to play...the idea is to enjoy yourself. Come here and lower your stress level. See? Atari Pac-Man is good for something after all!

👉 Be sure to take a photo of your Star Fox score before you begin the next leg of your journey! A final score is not displayed at the end of the game when you lose your last life.

🏆 BIG THANKS to @RickR who generously donated a pile of unused Combat cartridges to the site for use on future projects.
