Has anyone else played the board game? I don't have any of the expansions yet, but the stock BSG game is a hell of a lot of fun. It's a long session and the rules take some learning, but once everyone "gets" it the game is an absolute blast.

Got the Junk Box today, here's what I grabbed:
The TMNT stuff and Transformers figure is for my nephew, he loves that stuff! My daughter wanted the Goomba and the Mario candy cube thing, it actually has some Mario stickers inside of it too. Shark! Shark! is for me, I've been looking for a copy for a while, and the Challenger Famicom game just looked cool after watching some Youtube vids of the gameplay. Finally the Pokemon Ash Gray was claimed by my wife, she was super geeked when she saw it :-)
The box is fully (and I mean fully) loaded, and will be on its way to AtariBrian on Monday!

So I finally got a score worthy of posting:
Full disclosure - I used Stella on my Windows laptop, and this was my weapon of choice:
I remapped the Y button to the Up direction so I would actually have a jump button, and this game became MUCH more playable, almost enjoyable. I might try to beat my score further. This was only my second attempt with Stella and my gamepad, so I'm sure I could do better with more tries.

I really enjoy the CV version as well. I am glad I have a 2600 controller adapter for it though, as the controller would be my one big gripe against the game. I think my favorite home console version is the NES version, but I really enjoy the CV and INTV versions almost as much.

Just tried it again. About the second level being one of the hardest second levels in gaming,
well, the results are in and it turns out it is....

Lol, naturally most of what we discuss in the retro community is based on opinions. But that's also what makes being a part of the community so fun!
I second this, the second level sucks and I hate the fact you don't have a jump button. I came in at 100 below Dauber at 6100; no pics yet because I honestly feel like I can get a better score if I can grit my teeth and play enough. I'll probably play a few more rounds to see how high I can get, but give me 2600 DK any day of the week over this game. At least that game has a jump button!

I got four of the eight, all of which my daughter promptly took and placed in her room
I'm probably going to go there for lunch today and see if I can snag others. I think the Big Mac is perfect just the way it is; I tried both the Mac Jr and the Grand Mac and I felt like Goldilocks.

Considering its 100 bucks cheaper than just the console from Gamestop, it seems good to me.
Glad someone pointed out the external storage option too; I have the 32GB model, but I needed additional storage, so I got a 32GB thumbdrive on the cheap and its working great.
A lot of people ripped on this console or passed it up, but it was worth every penny we spent on it. Definitely got our money's worth. I would say the same thing about the Switch as well, its been great so far.

Just wondering if there's any other fans of this game on the forum? I initially got it on the iPad, but I picked it up on sale on GOG for Windows the other day, and I've really been enjoying it on my laptop. I feel like having hotkeys on the keyboard and being able to select multiple crew at once with the mouse really enhance the experience over what the iPad offers.
This game though... if you're into space sim games or Rogue-likes at all, get this game, you won't regret it!

We got one a couple weeks after launch, I've enjoyed Blaster Master Zero. I ended up beating Breath of the Wild on the Wii U instead of the Switch because we weren't initially planning on getting one. Snipperclips is great too. 1-2 Switch is ok in short bursts, and Super Bomberman was a bit of a disappointment so far, although I haven't tried it with the recent patch.
My daughter has played Zelda on it in the car quite a bit on some 2-2.5 hr trips, and we've had no issues with battery life.
I think I'm really going to play more once Mario Kart arrives this week. I'm really looking forward to having a good battle mode again, unlike the crap battle mode they gave us in Mario Kart 8 on the Wii U.

I am interested, I'm located in Michigan.

Yeah planning on opening it and playing it, I'm not a sealed collector (although I do have a sealed Gravitar and Joust for the 2600, gifts from a friend).

I found this while Googling; looks like they're not being made anymore, but the schematic is available for use by anyone?

Willie (Arcade USA) did a video on an adapter he picked up from someone on eBay a couple of years ago, but I don't see them available on eBay anymore.

I don't know if I mentioned it already or not...but if you ever get a chance to grab a digital third-party stick for the 5200 -- do it. Most games come to life with a better stick. Especially the arcade games like Pac Man, Ms Pac Man, Dig Dug, etc. OH, and also Berzerk, which is the best game for the system IMO.
I'll keep my eyes open for one, but when I have seen them they are usually big bucks. I wonder how difficult it would be to build a 2600 joystick adapter?

Just scored this on eBay; good deal?
Edit: Apparently they put another one up (see new link); I paid 5.40 for one earlier with free shipping as well. I didn't really care about the condition of the box.
-
I have really enjoyed Pole Position for the 5200; it works well with the analog stick.
Some others that haven't been mentioned that I've really enjoyed so far:
Gyruss
Jungle Hunt
Star Trek: SOS

RickR is awesome; see this post for proof: http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/568-show-off-your-successful-trades/page-19?do=findComment&comment=31768
Thanks again Rick!

So part of this was a trade, part of it was cash, and part of it was just plain ol generosity from none other than RickR! I just have to thank him again for sending me, for the cost of shipping alone, a functioning Atari 5200 with a copy of Pac Man! We did a trade for the two controllers (also generous as eBay has shown me they go for quite a bit!), and I have been thoroughly enjoying this system! Once you get used to the controllers its pretty fun, although admittedly some games are easier to control than others.
I just thought I would post my entire collection in a pic, but for details on how I scored the other carts see http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/2999-so-i-bought-a-bunch-of-5200-games/

I added Combat and SMS' Hang On/Safari Hunt.
Combat, really? Not the best but hardly the worst IMO.
