DCG reacted to Mcorleonep in Altered Beast is underrated
I remember playing this at a friends (still had an NES then). I thought it wasn't a bad game, just not very good pack-in game. It was pretty short and even then I thought it odd that Sega would have a game with such a morbid theme as a pack-in.

Dynamite and an ice cream cone can mean only one thing:
Taz!

The SMS version is REALLY bad, and I honestly believe Sega didn't even try. I know the Master System isn't the Genesis, but they could've done much better.

Yo! Welcome to Atari I/O! You can not go wrong here. Lots of fun things going on here. I agree with RickR...check the trading and for sale posts. Some of the games and systems up for grabs are going at "low low prices!!" OK...maybe I made that last part up but much cheaper than any other place on the internet. That includes physical businesses as well. And all of these members are very trustworthy

Welcome, and be sure to check out the trading forums. It's a great way to build up your collection.

I used to frequent this forum a bit about a year or so ago, but I set aside collecting games, by and large, for the better part of a year and am now getting back into it. (Don't worry. I didn't sell any of my stuff; I just spent money on my other collecting pursuits for a while--Star Wars stuff and movies.)
I collect for a whole bunch of classic and more modern consoles. On the Atari front, I currently have the Atari 2600 (Sears Tele-Games and Atari Junior models), a 5200, a modded 7800, and the XEGS for 8-bit shenanigans. I'd like to go for the full set of 7800 games, but I'm also balancing for other systems, so it's slow going. I'm not in a rush. The Atari bug has hit me hard lately, so I've been mainly beefing up my 2600 library recently.
Anyway, I don't mean to blather. This community is rad, and I want to be an active part of it. So color me excited. I'd like to get more into the other classic systems from the 70s/80s, too, specifically the Intellivision and ColecoVision, both of which I know relatively little about (enough to get started, at least). Looking forward to learning more. I have one lonely Intellivision game and nothing for the ColecoVision (no systems, either!).
K, that's probably enough for now.
Thanks for having me!

I guess that is where I am coming from, hoping it is in the right hands. Sure it would be AMAZING to have the entire package but I would have been just as happy to have console only!!!! Such an amazing piece of Atari and video game history!!!!
Oh, and should you EVER acquire one, you better invite me over to check it out!!!!

I saw this after the auction closed. I've been in the market for a 2700 for a while. This one didn't have the controllers but still needed a good home

DCG reacted to Starbuck66 in NSG's Name That Game
I remember it having a learning curve when I first played it, but with some practice and the manual I was able to get the hang of it. I just remember being in awe of the graphics; it was the best 2600 graphics I had ever seen.

Then the point was meant for you!
Skateboardin' is correct!
Hopefully my review helps clear it up! Later down the road, I also plan to post a full playthrough successfully completing the game.

Man I knew it right away too, Rick beat me to it. A favorite of mine when I was a kid, and one of the few Atari games I bought brand new!

Oh my gosh....I was JUST playing this one. I'm sorry to grab it so quickly.

I can't wait for your review...I couldn't quite get the hang of it.

DCG got a reaction from MalakZero in Pitfall! International Edition
Don't you just love it when you buy a game and find out later it won't play on your system? Well, I picked up Pitfall! International Edition today wondering if it was from Europe, and sure enough, it was. The game will only run on a PAL Atari, which I'm sure most people here in North America don't have. It makes me wonder why this game was here considering Pitfall came out in the US and Canada in NTSC format.
So remember, Pitfall! International Edition is PAL. How to spot this version is simple. On the front of the label under "Pitfall!", instead of saying "Pitfall Harry's Jungle Adventure", it'll say "International Edition".

PS2 is currently my console of choice. It's the one I play when I finally do get some time to have fun. Oh, and PSP, which is about the same tech-level as PS2.
