I backed it.  Here's the basic gist of what's going on, as I understand it.  About a week before the end of the funding phase, they figured that with a small design change, they could make the watch IPX7 compliant.  What this basically means is decent waterproofing, able to survive immersion in one meter of water for 30 minutes.  Prior to this, the Gameband design allowed for little to no water resistance, so backers were quite happy with the change.

The updated IPX7 design meant that the original renders were no longer accurate, so the watch ended up with a boxier design.  Not a big deal, I guess.  But once they were deep in the DVT (design verification test) phase, they noticed the USB-C connector was about 1mm too deep within the watch body for your typical USB-C cable to reach.  Most cables' molded plastic housing would bump into the outer edge of the watch and keep the metal connector from making full contact inside.  They wrestled with this for a couple months then decided, maybe, an adapter would be the best way to move forward, without starting over from scratch and delaying the project another year or so.

Then, they ran into the great wall of the Chinese New Year shutdown, halting any progress in finishing DVT or moving on to hard/soft tooling.  That holiday has since passed, and they're starting to move forward once again, but details are light.

Communication has been a constant issue with the Gameband team these past several months due to a combination of factors, and prolonged silence makes backers uneasy.  But it's a Kickstarter, after all, and those come with certain risks.  I'm not terribly concerned, myself; I've seen videos of recent prototypes showing off the software, and I've played a little with their SDK, too.  Their website shows an April, 2018 availability for some of their software, and if that's in any way indicative of the the timeframe for the watch shipping to backers, then I'm OK with that.  But again, without better communication, it's hard to tell for sure.

Man, I haven't played this game since I was a kid but definitely have fond memories of it. Talks about Duck Hunt made me realize just how simple of a game it was, like many Atari games, but still really fun. There's just something that's difficult to match in terms of Nintendo's quality in regards to their games of that time.

A few weeks ago Glenn was able to confirm that the JagDuo did indeed have a CD sub assembly daughterboard as well, which initially was discouraging because it was already difficult enough to find the PCB files for the JagDuo itself. Thankfully with a scan of the board he provided me, I was able to find them and so now both boards will undergo updates for modernized PCB production - which are still being worked on as time is available.

The files are interesting because they were completed in early February of 1995, so almost exactly 23 years ago! However, the boards weren't actually made until July of 1995, as noted on the CD board here. Makes sense seeing as how the Jaguar CD wasn't even completely finalized until about that time as well. It's interesting to also note that Atari did not do the design themselves and outsourced the project, which further explains why no one at Atari seems to have ever seen one in person or half of them not even knowing of its existence.

Remaining piece to the entire puzzle seems to be the BOM or Build of Material list at this point. While it's possible with some super talented and clever people to kind of work around and do it, it would seemingly be very difficult or at least, far easier to do if we had the BOM.

I've got some more work cut out for me and will spend the next month or so trying to locate these last few pieces in hopes that we can finally assemble one of the coolest puzzles Atari left unfinished. When you place the JagDuo and Sony PlayStation side by side, you can't help realize just how beautiful the console could have been.

In case you guys haven't already seen it elsewhere, we're close to having some PCBs made. Hopefully by the end of the month we will have a few in hand and start building one to see how possible recreating it will be overall.

So I jumped from Season 2 to now Ep 3 of Season 4 and it's almost over. Kind of a bizarre time jump and series of events but man did the AOL CD thing really hit home. It's like you couldn't go anywhere in the 90s without an AOL disc or disk being shoved down your retinal holes lol

Really loving the series! Did everyone already finish it off? Think I would classify it almost as a mini series now.. .

I've been blogging my progress on building a USB adapter for the Atari Jaguar controller: http://forums.atari.io/index.php/blog/13-hacking-with-atari/

Once finished I posted about it in the Jaguar Code & Dev Facebook group and got enough positive response about making a batch to set up a Kickstarter campaign. It'll run until March 1st and I'm only one more pledge away from reaching the break even point where it becomes worth it to order components.

For many of you who own full Jaguar setups it's a little redundant, but it's been very useful for enabling better play with emulators. It's also kind of fun to be able to just chuck a controller in my laptop bag and play while traveling.

This was a really great mail day! I finally received my copies of Jeff Minter's Llamatron 2112 and Revenge of the Mutant Camels (Jaguar) and Super Circus Atari Age (7800). I placed the orders for these back in November but apparently there was an issue with the box printer for the Jaguar games. I can't wait to play them later in the week!

Messing around some more and threw together a quick MOD-playing Jaguar Jukebox which includes the classic Axel F. Have some audio issues to work out  (which I've been pointed on how to correct already, just need more time) but once done, will finish and release both the ROM and CD image. Feedback welcome, let me know if there's possibly a specific MOD you would like to see included. I originally wanted 12-songs but it looks like I'll have to settle for 9 or less. I know it's kind of goofy but it's just for fun anyway. Phil Collins is getting the axe....

I just got the PS1 game "Kurt Warner's Arena Football Unleashed" and compared it to the unfinished Arena Football '95...... its the same game, but finished. And whats funny is on Arena Football '95, there's no extra point play (after touchdown). I figured they didn't get a chance to program it into the game. Now playing the Kurt Warner version, there never was going to be an extra point play...LOL!

yeah, it really does move around super nicely in full speed! It's not exactly the prettiest looking or most polished but it excels where it should first and foremost and that's the gameplay, something Atari didn't really seem to grasp.

This looks fantastic and truly "next gen" for the time. It would be great if a playable rom was released to the community. Especially as the team apparently kept working on the Jaguar version for fun even after the exclusive rights were sold to Nintendo.
