Jinroh got a reaction from Justin in Selling my Aquarius+ Signature Edition with AquaPad Joystick
I agree, there is much better feeling when dealing with the physical media, but the most of people don't care they just want to play.
A shame the creator and community do not want to keep it both ways.

I completely agree with this. If it's just ROMs, why not just do emulation on a PC?
The Atari 2600+ is a perfect example. It is so compelling because it uses real cartridges. Other new products like the Commander X16 have cart ports.

In truth I got grumpy since the community (and creator) seem to be leaning towards ROMs instead of supporting the cart slot for Aq+ games. For the average Joe ROMs make more sense. As a retro game developer and publisher I'm enamored with carts. 🙂

Very cool machine, I did not ever hear of this before.
I hope it finds the good home. 💖

Agree, very nice. Gives me the Gyruss in space vibe.

Jinroh got a reaction from TrekMD in What is going on with Zero Page Homebrew?
I just discovered the thread here. Someone asked why they can't voting for Carrot Kingdom™, and the answer was "There was no public binary release." or something like that, which at the time there was. You just had to download from the Carrot Kingdom™ site, not from the other forum. 😛
That was kinda uncool IMO, along with the very limited list of games that do not including the rest of us. Like Peter said, no Songbird, Video61, etc. I don't keep up with the whole scene, but IMO the Venture port for 7800 that Peter and Lance did should have been way up the list!
Either way, I appreciate the hard work of everyone, and love checking out what I can from everyone. 💖

Selling the spiritual successor to Aquarius by Mattel. Not using it enough with all my other projects going.

Jinroh reacted to Mr SQL in Relaxing Pong Music Demo
PongMusicdemo.bin
This demo plays Arkanoid creating a new soundtrack every level.
There are some Island sounds that are very relaxing and other interesting musical pieces created, listen to it for a while and see what you think!
You can play any time pushing up and return to demo mode by pushing down, the BW switch changes the musical tempo and increases the speed.
This Atari demo also runs in the Commodore 64 embedded emulator, the SID sounds are very relaxing too but the songs sound completely different when the TIA chiptunes are played through the SID.
I couldn't upload the prg file for the C64 but will share it if support for .prg files are added 🙂

Jinroh got a reaction from DegasElite in Star Wars Fans
Oh man, thanks! I lost my Death Star owners manual years ago, and I've been wanting to address the two meter wide thermal exhaust port. The manual will definitely help me figure out how to fortify that. If not, I have a feeling it'll bite me down the road. 😄

Oh, that is cool. I have the one for the Falcon and also the one for the USS Enterprise!

Jinroh reacted to Sabertooth in Block'em Sock'em: 7800
I downloaded this one. It's fun, but pretty difficult. Also, due to the limitations of the emulator the VCS version is limited to TIA sound. If you've heard the Yamaha version, you know what we're missing. Still, not bad considering $8.99.

Are you sure that box is included? I think at the $30 mark, it's cartridge only despite what's shown in the product photo.
-
Jinroh reacted to RickR in Atari re-releasing 7800 carts
Good question! I think they did the same thing with Berzerk and Mr. Run and Jump when those were on pre-order. They did ship with boxes. It may be worth a question on the Atari Discord. I'll get back to you.
-
Jinroh reacted to Sabertooth in Atari re-releasing 7800 carts
Boxes are included, as with the Plaion re-release of Berzerk and release of Mr. Run & Jump. They are also including instructions this time! Here's a sample from "Ben at Plaion."

I appreciate that they’re standardizing the CX78 Control Pad. It always should’ve been that way.
