The boxed system collection grows a bit as I've added a box to my existing TI-99/4A

The peripheral expansion box (the big one) would be the one to use, because it can support many types of expansion cards. Originally the TI did not have hard drive capabilities, that comes with obscenely expensive outdated hard drive controllers... if you can find one.
Does it make sense in 2024 to use floppy drives? Unless you are a purist, the short answer is no. My suggestion would be to use the P-Box version of the TIPI and mount a Raspberry Pi 3B on it. This way you can transfer files directly from the Internet with your PC and slide them onto the TI over your local WiFi network.
The only real benefit to having a P-Box is if you are more than a casual user or simply a game player as 95% of everything out there will run off of a TIPI32K unit housed in a speech synthesizer sized case.
Good info, thanks!
I think what I'll do is open up that p-box and seeing if there's anything good inside. If not, probably just put it on a shelf in the attic for now. The small sized TIPI is probably my best bet, but I don't think I want to spend the time or expense figuring that out.

I finally bought one and really like it! However, I can't figure out how to update it. I've watched the videos and just can't get it right. 😞
It is super clunky, don't feel bad.
I had a lot more luck doing it step by step using this printed guide. See if it helps you too.- greenween and DegasElite

There are moments of magic in this game...like when you get the man bouncing on the barriers such that he clears out a whole load of balloons. You'll note too, it won't play the clearout jingle until after the man is heading back down in order to startle you a bit.

I'm not sure if they would or not, as I think it's the exact same kernel/software as Uno.

It really sucks. This is the type of thing that will keep customers away.

SpoilerI like it very much! This is a classic Star Trek. We haven't seen something like this in a while. Well done.
And was Book playing Virtual Boy? 🙂

I think that display shows the mm/dd/yy of when your program will finish loading. That C64 drive is SLOW.

Tuesday is a great day for going to the movies! It is cheap night in most places.
I hope you feel better soon.
Regarding the expensive streaming for first run movies, I'd never do it myself. But imagine you have a BIG tv and sound system at home and a whole bunch of family and friends that want to watch with you. BOOM. Bargain. I think if you've got 4 people or more, it's cheaper to stream.

Dang. I don't have a PS4 controller, so I can't help. I've just been using the stock controllers.
