I think I've posted this pic before...but here's the very computer I used for Doom...from 1991.  I had the sound card hooked up to a boom box, and it cranked!  And that wall behind is the adjoining wall to to my neighbor's house!  CRANK IT UP!

ROF would have been a great addition to the 7800 library.  This was one of my favorite games on Atari 8-bit, and I was just playing it the other night.  The "surprise" in the game is so cool, and it by itself makes the game worthwhile.  There is suspense every single time you stop to rescue a pilot.

I like it a lot.  But it's very much a Mike Judge show.  If you like King of the Hill, Beavis & Butthead, etc, you'll like this too.  And TJ Miller is really hilarious in this show. 

I'll find that EG article later.  But you are correct.  We all anticipated something truly awesome from Atari back then.  Failure was unimaginable.

So Justin, do you actually have that prototype?  How absolutely cool!  I remember reading about the "Video System X" right after the show in Electronic Games magazine.  Exciting times!

Looks to me like they put this together with MTV, who probably came up with the crazy bread theme.

It would appear the save battery in StarTropics still works, so I'll be able to save my progress!

I found this one at a yard sale a few months back for $10

Visited a retro game store today, and they were having a Buy one/get one free sale, so I got all this for the low, low price of $19.85.

Once in a while, something awesome Just appears on the scene. This game is one of those.

Amount Completed: Not much. You can fly around in a small space, several instruments run through testing pattern, no objects to pick up or fight and no sound.
Reason for Cancellation: Believed to be cost reasons. The game required an extra RAM chip.

A couple of VCS Activision manuals I needed, plus Xenophobe!  Love this game.  This brings my 7800 collection to 18 games -- it was at ZERO before I joined the forums!  This is all your fault...

The newest version is spectacular.  It's really challenging.  Graphics are great.  Speech synthesis is great.  Just an absolute blast to play.
