Nice setup!  So the new TV is 20" or so?  Those aren't bad weight-wise.  I thought it was a 32".

We used to have a 32" CRT TV upstairs, and it took me, my wife, and my son to get it down the stairs and into the car (to haul it to Salvation Army!)  My next door neighbor, who is quite burly, took pity and grabbed it from us and carried it the last 10 feet or so.  I call him Hercules now.  Then, when we got to SA, the worker there went to the back of the car.  Before I could finish saying "Be careful, it's really heavy"...the dude was casually lifting and carrying it into the building.  Is there a moral to this long-winded story?  Yes -- I have noodle arms.

Very nice.  Looks like a very flat tube.  But I'll bet it weighs a ton.  Great deal!

Lots of MOBAs and a some demos in that list, but I can comment on a few of those:
First off, Path of Exile is easily the best free title in that lot.   Amazing Diablo-like game, the free to play model is so fair that I literally couldn't figure out what to buy just to pass a few bucks to the game.   Amazing game, lots of fun.
Warframe is really neat too.  Co-op type FPS game with unique suits to buy and unlock.   For free you get enough to have fun with, and you don't have to spend a lot to buy another suit to try out.  Each suit has its own weapons and abilities.  The graphics are awesome and unique too.
Star Wars the Old Republic is an MMO that has a questionable free to play model.   Very penalizing towards free players.   That said, you could just play though the story pretty much single player and enjoy the game.   The writing is top notch, and there are plenty of nods to Knights of the Old Republic.
Neverwinter is an Dungeons and Dragons MMO, so I can't really tell you why I didn't like it, but I didn't.
War Thunder is very similar to World of Tanks that I mentioned earlier.   It does flying better than World of Warplanes, but the tank aspect is lacking in my opinion.  I prefer world of tanks.
Marvel Heroes is an excellent MMO.  I spent very little and had a great time.  I think I paid to unlock the Punisher as a character and that was bout it.   Lots of fun, cool story, not too terribly deep.
Alien Swarm is fun if you have a group of 4 players to play together.   It's rather short as far as the campaign goes, but its totally free.

Here's what the mock-up VSX Asteroids box looked like

I don't have any video interviews with Regan, I suspect there may not be any out there. I had the honor of working with Regan for a number of years along with other Atari alumni on another project.

Regan spoke of Atari often and we would end up spending hours discussing topics like this. The origins of the 5200's size... the Bang & Olufsen influence on the Roy Nishi wedge... and how films like Blade Runner and 2001: A Space Odyssey influenced Atari's industrial design group. (They were big fans of Syd Mead's design work in Blade Runner and elsewhere, and the matte glow of the red LED in the 5200 was inspired by HAL 9000.)

I've wondered about the three rectangle logo to the right side of the VSX logotype, and I clearly remember Regan giving an answer to that question, but this was about ten years ago and I can't remember what that answer was. I do remember there was a thought behind the design.

If you look closely, you'll note that the Atari VSX in this image (same as Rick's PDF) is physically different than the production models, as are the joysticks.

You'll notice the power button is perfectly flush with the plastic around it, and there's a grooved line just below the power button that runs the width of the system. This is reminiscent of the 7800. The smooth design looks great and is more in keeping with Regan's 1200 XL styling. Compare with a production 5200 console and you'll see the 5200 power button has a bit of a "moat" carved around it, and it lacks that additional groove. And take a closer look at the joysticks. The base of the joysticks are solid plastic and raised up a bit, with much smaller, tighter rubber boots than the production models. Were these the earlier 5200 joysticks that everybody loved that used a yoke and gimbal mechanism from an RC airplane controller kit?

This leads me to believe that the Video System X models that we've seen so far are "pilot production models" where as the VSX in the image above is an earlier design model.

Yes, and I think we may have more to talk about regarding the Atari Video System X sometime soon

The Video System X to me is much more than what the 5200 ended up being, it's the embodiment of that hope and that idea we dreamed of when reading about "the next new Atari" in magazines like Electronic Games. Atari had so much promise at that time. It was inconceivable that the next Atari system would be anything other than out of this world.

Boxes have various levels of wear.  A few have some staining.  A couple have a bit of a cigarette-y smell.  Most are in decent shape, however, and all are CIB except Basketball, Pigs in Space, and Strawberry Shortcake, which are missing manuals.  I'll happily take additional photos of anything you're interested in.

Taking all reasonable offers!  Or, make a list of what you're interested in and I can send you a quote.
