RickR reacted to Atari 5200 Guy in Atari / Namco F-1 1976 arcade game
Well...I remember playing the 280 and wasn't really good at it. Then Mom bought a Datsun 280Z, later followed by a 280ZX, one of which I would get later in life, and flashbacks of that game came to mind. I agree, the 280ZZZapp! game was loads of fun!

OH MAN! I totally remember this game. This was a great time when new ideas were being green-lit. Pushing the envelope.
The thing I remember about this game was how fragile it seemed. It didn't quite work right...crash detection could get off pretty easily. So as great as the game looked, the play was a little bit random. But I totally loved this game just for how cool it looked. That and 280Zzzapp! really made an eight year old feel like he could really drive.

I traded with RickR for a Jaguar case on May 28, 2016. RickR has been a pillar of our wonderful community since the very beginning and was delightful to trade with! Honest, great communication, quick to respond, fast shipping! Highly recommended, will do business with again! A++

RickR & I have traded twice & he's been a fantastic trader!
First, he gave me Midnight Magic (2600) for Double Dragon (NES). Then he sent me a repaired set of 2600 paddles in exchange for Double Dragon 2 (NES) & Legendary Wings (NES). I also threw in an extra set of paddles, which I believe he repaired and included in a Junk Box.
Great trader & great guy! I look forward to trading again in the future!!

RickR reacted to Ballblaɀer in RickR
RickR is a gentleman and a scholar. We've completed a fair number of trades and sales back-and-forth in just a few months' time, and each has been exactly as I'd hoped, if not better. Most recently I sold him a small stack of Atari games (Porky's, Tunnel Runner, Tron Deadly Discs, Bugs, and Ballblazer), and payment came with no hesitation. I'm already planning to trade for and/or purchase another set of his fixed-up VCS paddles -- the first set I received from him in trade a short time ago was just perfect.
Three thumbs up.

RickR got a reaction from Atari 5200 Guy in Sears Video Arcade 2 Project
Also more on the Sears Video Arcade 2 -- the picture is wonky on some games. Berzerk has a thick blue band at the top. Space Invaders rolls a bit. Some games are perfectly stable. I don't think they made a PAL model, so it couldn't be that. Or could it?

I just tried, and the answer is no. The button works, but the knob does nothing. I'm not sure if there's a trick to it or not, but I tried in both "joystick" and "paddle" mode.
Ironically, I also can't get the paddles to work on my Gemini. There, the knob works, but not the button. I think I need what the manual refers to as a "wye" cable, but don't have that.

Yes. Yes I was.
This show ends early March...and I don't think it's going to travel anywhere.

RickR got a reaction from jmjustin6 in "Star Trek: Exploring New Worlds" Exhibit
I visited the Star Trek exhibit at the Seattle Museum of Pop Culture, and thought I'd share some pictures. It was a tremendous collection of real TV and movie props, mostly from the collection of Paul G. Allen. The highlight being the real bridge console, captain's chair, and navigator's chair from Star Trek: TOS.
The link for the exhibit is here: http://www.mopop.org/at-the-museum/current-exhibits/star-trek-exploring-new-worlds/
