Personally I like Robot Tank a little better, but they are neck and neck for me. On my list of 197 ranked game, BZ is 24 and RT is 23. Yup, it's close. However, you do have to play RT and little differently than BZ to fully appreciate it.

It sure does!  I can't remember if Battlezone is better or worse than Robot Tank.  I'll find time to try them both and see.

Battlezone on 2600 has a nice Activision look and feel to it

My favorite part of this game is the cool "static" effect when you get shot.

I'm not sure.  I know a lot of members here have a 5200.  I also spread the word on a few 5200 Facebook groups.   It could be the Chas10e case...maybe they tried but didn't feel like posting a score.

One tip I kind of discovered is to keep your wand in the middle of the screen as much as possible.  The spider can't surprise you there.  But that can be difficult when the centipedes make it down to the bottom.  And even then, the spider can still get you if you don't dodge fast enough.

I found this game to be very frustrating.  For most games, I usually get a little better the more I play.  But not this one.  I plateaued very quickly.
I did learn to appreciate the 5200 reset button on the controller though.  I ended up using that a lot.

K's score of 39k is amazing to me.  I played for hours at a time and always topped out right at about 19k.

BLAST THOSE PESTS!! Congratulations kamakazi20012! This was our 52nd Squad Challenge and our first 5200 Squad Challenge so far! We only had two participants for this Challenge but the enthusiasm here was great! @kamakazi20012 posted a score of 39,194 and @RickR was close behind with 20,631. Thank you to you both for turning out for this game!
2019 will be changing it up in High Score Squad with new challenges for Lynx, SNES, Genesis, Master System, Atari ST, Jaguar, 5200, TurboGrafx-16, Intellivision, ColecoVision, and much much more, in addition to the usual lineup of video game systems. We may even have an Arcade challenge! Be ready to play all of these game systems, we'll be breaking new ground with more interesting Squad Challenges coming up very soon and throughout the year, and we hope to see you there. Way to go everybody!

So looking at your shellf, I'm assuming Kirk and Spcok fought over the trophy, but since it ended without a knockout, they asked Pike to declare the winner...Awesome!

Well I did give it a bit of a go but, 1, my scores were so abysmal I never snapped a pic. Barley cleared the first screen. Then I found myself busy with other projects that the time slipped away without my notice.
Congrats to @kamakazi20012 & runner up @RickR a big thanks to @Justin for these squad challenges for the opportunity for me to discover why I hate this game. and to@Atari Creep you's be welcome to come by & play it at my place if you ever head up North a bit. mebbe give me some pointers :)

This item is pretty old, but I've been looking for one for a long time with no luck.  It's the Ms. Pac Man plug and play and it has the twisty knob for Pole Position control.  It also has the little game key slot, but no cartridge (dang it).

It had really old and dead batteries within, but I wasn't able to open it at Goodwill.  I took a chance (only $5), and when I got home, the batteries were ancient.  One had leaked, but not bad.  I got it cleaned up pretty easily and it works fine.

Okay I own both an NA TG-16 and my JPN TurboDUO. I naturally use the Duo since I can play pretty much everything on it. If you want to get good composite and left/right stereo without a ton of money (Turbo Boosters are damn pricey people!!!), then Might I suggest this route?
Although currently out of stock... but I would check with them from time to time to see about getting one.

Also there is a member on the FB group who goes by MuhMullet I beleive? He created an RGB amp board you can use to plug into the back of any TG-16 or PCE to get RGB out for a crazy low price as well. He also includes the SCART cable to make sure you get one that works properly.
But because I never take my TG-16 out of its hard shell case and only use the DUO, I don't use these options myself. I actually added in standard RCAs to the back of my DUO for stereo audio and composite, and wired in an S-video circuit. That is how I play and am honestly quite pleased with the results. But I do have to say that the composite on the TG-16 and PCE is some of the best I've seen from a classic console of that era.

I think this speaks to the tremendous legacy of Super Mario Bros.  For all the arguing we like to do about the 7800 or SMS vs the NES....it's THIS game that really built the Nintendo legacy and makes those arguments moot.  The 7800, whether it was released earlier or the Tramiels had never purchased Atari, was never going to beat the NES without a killer piece of software.
