Alas no. Over the years I've lost my original files. And I'd hate to start from scratch. I worked on that beast whenever I was bored at work a few jobs ago. So it's dead, Jim.

Welcome IndyJones!  I never knew of your Tome file until now. Awesome reference guide! Will there be a version 2?

Hi, all! I'm an old timer. Got my first 2600 in 1978 or so. Still have a Woody, 1040ST, ColecoVision, INTV, and most newer systems. Even built a full MAME machine. But I guess my claim to fame is I'm the guy who made the Atari Manual Tome back in 2002.

I'm coming in way late to this discussion but off the top of my head (and using the AA site as a measuring stick):

Quest for Quintana Roo - Sunrise (R8)

    Also rarish:
    Mines of Minos (R6)
    Threshold (R6)
    Earth Dies Screaming (R5)
    Laser Gates (R5)
    Artillery Duel/Chuck Norris double (R5)

All loose so no bonus points there. I do have a Frogger II in box with all the originals for the 5200 though. One of my nicest finds at the thrift store years ago

I'll have to look through my collection again to be sure...I have a Starpath cart but can't remember which tapes I had for it apart from Communist Mutants. I have to imagine that few of those tapes survived as more than a couple were probably erased.

Finally got my second Milton Bradley cart for the 2600 thanks to NSG! I've actually had my copy of Spitfire Attack since I was a kid; it was one of three games I managed to keep from my original collection (the other two being Joust and Buck Rogers). Picture below of both carts together:

I wish my Spitfire Attack label was as pristine as the Survival Run label, but I'm still happy I have both MB games in my collection now.

EDIT: Realized it was Buck Rogers, not Frogger, that was the last game I managed to hold on to from my original collection... Ferg's upcoming podcast episode jogged my memory!

I have been doing HEAVY garage sales for over a year now.
I have had some KILLER scores over the past year.
That being said, here's what I have NEVER found in the wild:
Atari anything.   I found ONE Atari 7800 system once, and since then I've not seen so much as a loose cart or controller.
For that matter, I have never found anything Intellivision or Colecovision related at all.  Not a thing.  Not once.
I have never found any NES or SNES games at a garage sale.  I have seen one person with an NES and Mike Tyson's Punchout, but they wanted $80 firm for it.  I have found one NES front loader system (at the same sale I got the 7800)
I have found a TI-994a once.  Other than that I have never found a single classic computer system in any way, shape, or form.

Here's what I do find a lot of:
Gameboy systems and games, sometimes DS, even found a PSP and some games for it from time to time.   Handheld game system and games are fairly common-ish. You'll likely find DS, GBA, and Gameboy stuff.   Sometimes even Sega Game Gear.
Speaking of Sega:  I still find a pretty regular amount of Sega Genesis stuff for whatever reason.  Still find systems sometimes, and a loose game here and there.  Not sure why I find that more than Nintendo, but that is definitely the case.
You'll find LOTS of Wii, XBox, Xbox360, PS2, and PS3 games.   Lots of them.  By far the most common.  Not a bad thing for me, but I rarely keep anything out of those finds.
I also tend to find lots of Guitar Hero controllers, Rock Band controllers, and odd driving controllers etc.
You'll find lots of terrible PC games, but keep an eye out for the occasional big box PC games.   Some of those fetch a nice price.

All in all, I enjoy it.   I get VERY little for my own collecting out of them, but I get lots of flea market/eBay fodder, and some nice trade goods. I also find lots of old board games, sometimes electronic games, etc.  The hunt is fun.

Your area might be totally different, and I find that some areas aren't as good as others.  For example, very affluent neighborhoods are usually terrible.  Multi-family garage sales are awesome.  Church garage sales are very random, and I find very strange things there.

Make a day of it, hit the thrift stores, etc.   And let us know what you find!

As most of you are probably aware, a tree fell on our house last Sunday during a bad storm and destroyed the bedroom I'd been using.
Things have been pretty miserable here since then.

Today, however, as I was digging through what used to be the closet in my room, I found this! I would guess it's my older brother's old NES, and I guess my Granny must have squirreled it away in that closet without ever telling anyone.

I'd been pretty down in the dumps about the whole thing, but finding this has lifted my spirits considerably.

    Just look at that BOX!!!!

I want to give a huge thumbs up to the Ray Carlsen "Power Saver" cable that's available for the C64.  It's a short dongle that goes between the C64 power brick and the C64 console.  If the power supply is good, the light on the dongle lights green and everything is good.  But if the 5V line is running high, the LED is red and no power goes to the computer.  A high 5V line can destroy chips on the board.  What's bad is that it could go high at any time, and you'd never know until your computer starts to die.

In my case, I tested a power adapter I was going to include with a C64 trade for a forum member here...and it immediately gave a red light!  I like to think we saved a C64 with this cable.

I paid $35 + $8 shipping for the cable, and I'm so glad I did.  Google search Ray Carlsen Power Saver to learn more and where to order.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by RickR for anyone using a Commodore 64.

Some really cool stuff this time in the box!  Always wanted that how to win at video games magazine and the tomy pac man bank!  Could not pass up a Mattel football II and Donkey kong 3.  Mechwarrior I kept because....Mechwarrior!  I love robot battle games!

Love doing these boxes, so much fun!

I saw this vintage '80s Chrysler K-Car today at the McDonald’s drive thru window. It looked brand new, like it had just been driven off of the showroom floor. It even had an "Antique" license plate to designate it as a collector's car. I couldn’t help but smile at the older couple driving it and take a pic to share with you guys. Something about K-Cars and McDonald’s just goes perfectly together.

Opps, DK Jr, was not suppose to be in there, but maybe I can do a quick review of it and send it your way!
I will hold the other two for you and wait to see if you want any other titles I am posting later. Is there any certain games you are looking for?
