  1. No...it give me a chance to run like a bat out of hell! And, yes, Creep...I'm having fun with it. Still doesn't change my mind about the game being brutal at times. Especially when it plops your butt within arms reach of a robot. Talk about your stare downs.
  2. I've also noticed that Otto can move quicker if he is bouncing straight down. So avoid going down if he comes after you.
  3. Umm...did you know that you can shoot Otto in this game?
  4. Well, it's official...I'm not good at Berserk on Game 2. I only got 3700 points. Blah blah blah. Going to try again.
  5. I love it! I can't see all systems they showcase but would hope to see the 400, 600XL, all XE models.
  6. My Avast free version flagged it. Can't try to download it now. Grr.
  7. This game is brutal! And not because of Evil Otto. The game would pop me right next to a robot while going through the maze. As soon as I shot the robot without moving it killed me, too. Did that a few times. Yea...just plant me next to a robot, thank you. Then again this version is a bit more forgiving than the 5200 version. That one is harsh. "Chicken! Fight like a robot!" Nope...can't fight like a robot. Because I'm a Zombie! LOL. Wonder if a zombie would stand a better chance against these robots?
  8. Our local Sears left town before Summer. It was basically a small outlet that sold appliances, tools, and some electronics. Still it felt stuck in the 1970s. It didn't have retail space for clothes and wasn't part of a huge mall. It was part of a small shopping center. Dollar General is the anchor on one end. Memories? Only one. I got my Saturn, PlayStation, and N64 from Sears. I was young, had a good job at the time, and lived with my Grandmother. I had enough cash saved for two of the systems but my plan was to pick one and use the rest to buy a few games. I had tried all three out at Game X Change but they didn't have any new systems...just used with like new prices. For some strange reason the sales rep suggested trying to open a charge account. And this is where it gets really strange. I always paid cash for everything. If I didn't have it then I simply didn't need it. I'm still that way. So I basically had no credit. I don't know what that sales rep did but I ended up with a large charge account. I paid cash for one system, charged the other two along with two games per system, then stopped off at Golden Corral before making the 2 hour drive back home. I got Mom something for her birthday as well. Yea...huge mistake. Took me about two years to pay that stuff off. But, yea, the three systems during the mid-late 1990s I got all at once. Once I tried them out I played Saturn and N64 more than I did PlayStation...mostly because I didn't know I had to have a stupid memory card to save my games. It also took me a while to return to the PlayStation after believing I was brave by turning out the lights and playing Resident Evil in the dark with nothing but the glow of a 24" CRT and 5-channel surround. That lasted a whole ten minutes before I switched it off and went back to Panzer Dragoon.
  9. Nope. Don't own a Switch. But I like the looks of that controller! In all the years I've been a gamer I have only owned two arcade style sticks. The NES Advantage and one for Saturn...both were really good controllers. I can't remember who made the Saturn one. I want to say Sega did but I have not been able to find another one.
  10. I've taken a liking to the 7800 personally. Graphically, the 7800 is possibly to most powerful of the 8-bit consoles in that era. The ability to move at least a hundred sprites on screen without any slowdown issues is astounding. Intellivision never really sparked my interest but is still a good console. I can't wait to see what Tommy shows later this year on the new Intellivision.

    Fixed a SMS

Awesome job, RickR! And both games, too! Good to see another one saved. Power Base converter is good but nothing like a real SMS. It lacks the class the SMS is known for. It really is a unique system to have. Still tracking down original controllers but mine is on a shelf covered up. Its design is fun to look at.
  12. Just a thought...that box was/is an Atari licensed product, correct? Atari is supposed to be making a new VCS console, correct? It might be this box is made to bring more revenue in for the VCS production. I would still like to see that console work.
  13. Hmm...wonder if the insides will be similar to the NES/SNES/PSOne Classic Minis. Would make more sense. Seems to be a better solution honestly. Those at least seem to be more reliable.
  14. I have not seen it and we don't have a local Target. Our Wal-Mart, however, does have something similar based on the original Super Mario Bros. Like others have said, for what you get the prices seem steep. They could have put in a random used 2600 game LOL.
  15. What? I must have missed that. I thought he did Scrooge in the first series of DT episodes along with the movie. I know he voiced him in Mickey's Christmas Carol. Sad that he passed. Makes ma want to watch Mr. Ed, too.
  16. The more I hear others talk about it the more I am persuaded not to get one. The other 15 games would have to be the deal maker or breaker for me...then again I already have a PSOne original and slim. And PSOne games are fairly easy to find, most at a cheap price point. Not sure on this one. It would have been nice if they could have found a way to use original controllers so that consumers who already have controllers would have the option to use a Dual Shock if they wanted to. I know I've got a dresser drawer full of PSOne and a few PS2 controllers. That's the main turn off point for me at the moment...although R4 is reason enough for me to get one.
  17. LOL...I still get called "ma'am" on the phone when talking to customer service centers dealing with billing issues. Hilarious. In my area, the 5200 was known but not well received. The 2600 was where all the action was. Then there was like 2 years of nothing before the NES arrived. Our area didn't get anything video game related until 1987 when the NES mysteriously showed up without any advertising. Anything Atari was usually found at yard sales from people clearing out their garages, attics, closets, etc. Even then most of what was found was 2600 or 2600 related. And cheap! I think the most I spent on an yard sale Atari was $20. Mom and I bought them when we found them off and on. Most of the time the controllers were trashed and the consoles didn't play too well or were missing switches...but we still picked them up. I think at one point I had 12 2600 consoles with a few for parts because they wouldn't do much of anything. I'm not exactly sure what happened to those because Mom and I were constantly moving from place to place for a while. I think they got put in storage...and after a short while Mom neglected to keep up the storage payments. My area never got anything Atari again until long after the company was sold. Atari Jaguar stuff turned up at a computer store with a bad rep. I traded off my fairly new AMD K6-2 500 Mhz tower setup for a Jaguar. CD, and a bunch of games. All of it was new in boxes but the boxes were rather rough. I don't regret doing it but I do regret selling off all that Jaguar stuff. I mean, I had DOOM that played better than my PC version less music and I didn't have to fangdangle the computer settings to play it. Myst was very fun on the Jaguar and the only port of the game I actually completed. Jaguar got some good games but I felt it could have done more. It's a shame no well-known third-parties ever jumped on or licensed their good games to be ported to it. Anything would have helped. Atari remains my favorite because ... well ... it's Atari. But other consoles in my collection battle for top-dog mostly because of the sentimental memories tied up with them as well. Every game machine and game I had before leaving high school came from either my Mother or Grandmother. They were gifts. And that little NES kept me off the streets, out of trouble, and more. I might not have done my homework always but I wasn't out causing trouble either. Atari encouraged my wanting to read and the NES even more with the Nintendo Power magazines. It's hard for me to not like the other non-Atari consoles as much because they were there growing up with me when, at times, it seemed like no one else was. Mom would sometimes come and play but often times her asthma kept her from doing too much at once. I love the 2600, 7800, Lynx, and Jaguar consoles but the 5200 is where it all started for me. And those were very difficult to find in the wild then...and more so now. I keep it close to my heart. Every Atari console I have I sometimes just sit and stare at them, thinking back on the memories that put them in my life in the first place and those involved I no longer have.
  18. Now THAT is cool! What is that Centipede object?
  19. Just an update, and I am really trying to maintain a friendly conversation through this...our local AT&T towers are not expected to be back on until the 25th. And my wife is not getting any sort of compensation for time she paid for in advance to use that is simply not there. Yea...goodbye AT&T. Anyone here know anything about Boost? All I know is that they use Sprint, and offered us today a Motorola android smartphone for $5. Down fall? We need at least $75 upfront to start a $50 service and $25 one-time activation fee. After that it will be just $50 a month, prepaid, no contract. Opinions?
  20. This is priceless. Our Burger King is not that great. The "grilled" meat tastes fake and nothing like it use to. The Burger King in my hometown you could watch your burger being grilled. The nice thing about our Burger King? A soda fountain than can produce over 120 different flavors of soda. Touch screen operated! I never knew BK had a salad bar either. I knew Wendy's did at one time but not sure if they still do or if it depends on region. But, yea, I would enjoy seeing photos or videos of someone in an all Eighties setup using those coupons lol. Might want to change the address in those coupons before using them, though.
  21. Thanks, guys. We finally got a hold of AT&T (like that was easy) and they decided to "enhance" our towers but it backfired. Now every AT&T customer, locally, is without service, still. It has been two days at least and my wife is disabled and needs her phone. One day is understandable (that is pushing it) but two days is too long. She has no way to contact me if I have to run errands and she should need me. Went to Boost mobile, who uses Sprint, and I think every other customer in there was from AT&T. But I believe we might be switching her from AT&T to Boost.
  22. Game Boy Micro was almost too small as it was. I had one and it was cool but to small to enjoy.
  23. I have a few 5200 games CIB that Atari Corp rereleased. Silver replaced with a dull gray and copyright changed. Boxes are of a lower quality too. I was asking about copyright on that Junior box because it is interesting to learn what Atari did. It is a cool looking box.
  24. Are any Atari I/O members with AT&T having cellphone service issues? My wife's phone can not make or receive calls or texts. We were told that AT&T did some kind of enhancement update but it didn't work. We are now without service. I'm just trying to see if this is a local or nationwide incident. Thanks in advance!
  25. If it is emulated then it might be using a well established Linux OS. It makes sense to use that type of OS because it is free to use however one wishes. If that is the case then it will most likely accept any USB controller unless Sony tells the OS otherwise. Just a theory though.
