The new boss of Atari has pledged to make amends for the firm’s recent video game flops.

In March, the company released a survival game based on its Asteroids brand, Asteroids: Outpost.

It also turned its Alone in the Dark franchise into a team shooter with Alone in the Dark: Illumination in June.

Both games were poorly received.

“We make mistakes in games,” Frédéric Chesnais told MCV.

“With Asteroids: Outpost, the idea was to start with a solo experience and keep adding to it. The fans did not respond to that.

"On Alone in the Dark, the game is very stable but people didn’t like the gameplay. We’re working on addressing that.

“We do care about these brands, we are really trying to pay attention to what the community is saying and to do our best.

"You are only as good as your last game. That’s the problem and also the beauty of our industry. We don’t do it on purpose.”

Where's their email. Get a direct pipeline to this guy. Who better to test than the best Atari community in the world. Idk about you, but I would do it for free, anything to bring Atari back to its roots.

You know that is the issue, they think they can get away with Crappy downloadable mobile apps and forget about the past. Let's get the lost treasure of the sword quest and slay this vile beast! All hail Atari! LOL.

Are these PC or mobile games? (I'm assuming they aren't for consoles as I've never heard of them, but it wouldn't be the first time I was oblivious)

Hmm...Hire me Atari and I will show you a real revamp of Atari's original Star Raiders.  And this Atari needs to get back into the console business other than those flashback consoles.

We just over throw the leaders at Atari, then Atari.io becomes the official Atari and then we get the Coleco VGS guys on our side, then we get the molds for the Apple Pippin, we make a console called the "Intellivision Revamed". That would complete the circle of everything, hence, the world will explode.

that encounter could create a time paradox, the results of which could cause a chain reaction that would unravel the very fabric of the space time continuum, and destroy the entire universe! Granted, that's a worse case scenario. The destruction might in fact be very localized, limited to merely our own galaxy.  :wreck-it-ralph:

If you want to create a new Atari console slap together modern PC components and install a Steam OS with Atari branding all over it, OS included.  :D  Then release all the games on carts to plug into one of the available PCI ports.  Gives a new meaning to "plug n play".  ;)
