The second Squad Challenge will be for Beef Drop and will run from September 16th through September 30th. Special Thanks: A very special thank you is in order to atarilbc for making this happen. Justin
SPECIAL NOTE: True to its arcade inspiration, b*nQ gives you the option to rotate the stick 45 degrees to the right. Use the PAUSE button on the console to alternate between normal and rotated joystick orientation. Try playing in both orientations to see what works best for you! Sabertooth
Thanks to Justin for hosting this memorial edition of the High Score Squad! I did not know Ken Siders personally but his contributions to the 8-bit, 5200 and 7800 are fantastic! Both b*nQ and Beef Drop on the 7800 compare favorably with even the best arcade conversions from GCC. His talent will be missed. I hope everyone takes this as an opportunity to experience and enjoy Ken's great games, whether on physical cart or via emulation. I'll start this out with 45,125. This was on a stock 7800 using the 45 degree setting and a Coleco Gemini Dual Command joystick. I agree wholeheartedly that b*nQ and Beef Drop on the 7800 compare quite well with the GCC arcade conversions. Ken Siders had a lot to be proud of. This will be a nice way to enjoy his games and appreciate what he gave to the Atari world in the short time he was here. Thank you again! Atari 5200 Guy
I never knew the guy but did get to enjoy Beef Drop through emulation. Very talented person lost. This is a great way to honor his life. Played with an emulator and keyboard. My first time play it. Spot on conversion of the arcade and better than what PB did. I will have another go once I get my controller setup again. I use an original XBOX controller to play emulated PC and Steam games most of the time. RickR
13295 - I'm using MESS emulator and a Slik Stik joystick I really really suck at QBert. But this version is really good. Arcade perfect I'd say. Edited September 6, 2017 by RickR Sabertooth, greenween, Justin and 1 other
