I work nights now, so I just watched this episode. Vinnie its true, there are many of us that catch you guys on the replay. Great episode. Here are my thoughts... I agree that the overall pricing of games is unsustainable and prices will come down as the 2600+ hype dies down and sadly, as some of "our" generation continues to pass on as well. 7800 Asteroids is the best Port by Atari. I do love PMPs Asteroids Deluxe because it includes a hidden copy of Asteroids and therefore makes an excellent 2 for 1. However, nothing will ever beat the coin-op with its true vector graphics and SFX. Asteroids Recharged is my favorite Recharged game, follwed by Black Widow and Centipede Recharged. I don't care for Pitfall!, but I really like Pitfall II: Lost Caverns. I don't care for Adventure either. I'm sure my last two comments will sound like sacrilege to some, but I just never got into either game. Their in my collection, but I barely play them. Looking forward to your Top 100.🙂 Justin

How often do you actually use that and your other models to play 2600 games on non Atari platforms? I only ask because most of the AV upgrades on these consoles negate the use of these add-on devices since none of them use the actual graphics and logic hardware inside their parent console. Every "Atari" Party we have includes the INTY II and ColecoVision with the System Changer and Expansion Module #1. Both consoles remain unmodded and fortunately, both output a pretty good picture via RF. Edited March 26 by sramirez2008

Okay...was curious because the AV upgrades on the CV and Intelly similar to the VCS adapter on the 5200, will kill that functionality. On the Intelly and CV you can only use the 2600 adapters if you leave the RF modulators in place and if you want improved picture output with those modules, then you have to use a separate AV upgrade board that feeds off the RF signal in order to use them in that way. It is the one main caveat of most AV upgrades in these consoles. But then I'm of the opinion that it would be cheaper to get a dedicated 2600 for that use vs the add on modules that may or may not be completely compatible with everything. Justin
The Atari 7800 Forever Podcast / Atari Network Podcast is true quality, and a real benefit to the Atari community and to preserving Atari history. Your interviews are stellar. There's an approach to this that’s unique in its vibe and didn't take itself too seriously, and to me feels much needed in the Atari world. I hope to see the podcast eventually continue in some form. You have my support and the support of Atari I/0 if that day comes. socrates63 and Funkmaster V
