  1. If you guys like one of these, would wear one, and can spare the change, ordering one might be a nice way of showing Atari our support and gratitude for their efforts - especially if more expensive items like the Atari VCS and Atari 2600+ aren't on your shopping list. Just a thought
  2. @Atari 5200 GuyIn 1993 when I ordered my first new Atari games through mail order, effectively blind as Atari's mail order was just a list of game titles without photos or descriptions (I scanned the docs and included them in my 2600/7800 Strategy Guide, you can see them in PDF form!) One of the 25 games I ordered was Defender II for Atari 2600. Atari stated they may include substitutions if a game wasn't available. I was surprised to see a game called "Stargate" included with my order that I had never heard of. Only once I opened it up did I realize it was Defender II. I had assumed, as a young boy, that Atari Corp. probably no longer had the license to Defender that Atari, Inc. had, and published the game under a new name.
  3. I always wanted to do this for Atari I/O. Now Atari has done it themselves. There's a lot of Atari clothing out there that you can get at Target, etc. but I think "Atari Summer Camp" really takes the cake: https://atari.com/pages/club
  4. Superman II: The Richard Donner Cut (1980) PG $4.99 on iTunes https://www.cheapcharts.info/us/itunes/movies/417575516/Superman-II-The-Richard-Donner-Cut
  5. You're welcome to provide a link to Atari Age when necessary
  6. YES LETSSSS GOOOOOOO!! 🙌🔥🔥
  7. 🕹️ Added "Atari Museum Archive" to the MORE Dropdown Menu under BROWSE in the Nav Bar at the top of the page. With one click you can easily access the most recent wayback archive of Curt Vendel's Atari Museum website. This is a stopgap measure until I can develop something more permanent.

  10. 🕹️ Thank you, Atari, for what you did today.

  11. I think if the new Atari was ever audacious enough to do that, it would have to be an Atari 8-Bit Computer / Atari 5200 combo with keyboard and two cartridge ports. Think of a smaller Atari XEGS that could also swallow a 5200 cartridge.

The 2600+ can play both Atari original 2600 and Atari 7800 cartridges, and cartridges from the Atari XP program. How is the Atari 2600+ different from the original Atari 2600? The Atari 2600+ is enhanced the 2600+ from the original in the following ways: - Plays both Atari 2600 and 7800 game cartridges - HDMI output makes it easy to connect - Widescreen mode - 80% of original size - Enlarged cartridge socket reduces sticking - Atari logo lights up when being played How is the Atari 2600+ different from the Atari VCS? The Atari 2600+ plays both Atari 2600 and 7800 cartridges and is designed to look like the iconic 4-switch Atari 2600 model released in 1980. 13. @TrekMD That top one looks Starfleet 🖖
  14. @MaximumRD I love how that Klingon is walking around on lifts and still isn't quite as tall as you. The Ferengi fellow looks pretty convincing, as does that Cardassian replicator.
  15. Here's a closer look at four of Gene Roddenberry's classic failed pilots: Genesis II Planet Earth The Questor Tapes Strange New World
  16. The Questor Tapes is a 1974 failed pilot for a new Gene Roddenberry TV show, which aired as a made-for-television sci-fi drama film about an android (portrayed by Robert Foxworth) with incomplete memory tapes who is searching for his creator and his purpose. Conceived by Gene Roddenberry, who is credited as executive consultant, the script is credited to Roddenberry and fellow Star Trek alumnus Gene L. Coon. There are many parallels between the android Questor, and the android Data from Star Trek: The Next Generation as both are androids who are generally indistinguishable from a human male and striving to be more human. In the beginning, Questor looks quite like the Founders (Odo) and the first iteration of Lal Other parallels exist between the themes of The Questor Tapes and Star Trek: The Motion Picture as both Questor and V'ger are lost mechanical minds searching for their creator. If you can find the whole film please share!
  17. I'm continuing to refine the Mutiny homepage to be tight, informative and feature-rich. Today I added a "Recent Pickups" box to the sidebar towards the top (overall) of the page. What's neat is the "Recent Pickups" box acts as an aggregator, pulling from both the "Post your latest/recent pickups!" thread as well as the "Recent Pickups -- (Non Gaming)" thread, to display the two most recent posts across both topics! A larger "Recent Pickups" box was added to the main section of the Mutiny page, down towards the bottom, that displays the two most recent posts more fully and allows you to easily "like" and respond. Now there are two ways to quickly see the latest of what's going on in Recent Pickups in Atari I/O as you scroll through Mutiny 📟

  20. You're welcome @TrekMD! I was in line at Publix, saw it on the rack and grabbed a few pictures because I thought you guys might want to pick up a copy. Enjoy!
  21. I saw it in the check-out aisle at Publix, our grocery store in South Florida. I think it's at Barnes & Noble too.
  22. I saw this in the checkout aisle today at Publix and wanted to share. There's a special '80s edition of Mad Magazine out now, and it does not disappoint:
  23. LEEETTTTSSSS GOOOOOOO!!!!!! I lived through the '80s and '90s being an Atari 7800 mega fan watching the 7800 get no respect. Finally people are recognizing it as the Neo-Geo of 1984, as it should be.
  24. Best wishes through this @MaximumRD we are all here for you if you need anything. We went through a hurricane last year that was rougher than usual. Always know you have a team of people here who have your back 👊
  25. Very cool item @RickR! Now that I see this I remember selling these Nyko cases at Toys R Us during the Game Boy Color era. When I first saw it in your post I thought it was a TurboGrafx-16 Turbo Booster Plus, and remembered these cases always used to remind me of those even when they were new.
