We're going for a one-two punch with our second MAME Squad Challenge in a row! There was such great excitement and enthusiasm for our first MAME Squad Challenge, BTB convinced me to do this again! While everybody's got their MAME setup in action and ready to go, we're going to do back-to-back MAME challenges. The Adventures of Major Havoc was released to arcades by Atari, Inc. in 1983. It was largely designed by Owen Rubin with assistance from Marc Cerny. The original arcade machine uses a unique cylindrical "Roller-Controller" which plays like rolling a pop can left or right. Major Havoc was on the cusp of becoming an Atari mascot, and Sam Tramiel even mentioned in an interview the possibility of introducing Major Havoc into a new Jaguar game and being resurrected as a mascot for Atari Corp. The Adventures of Major Havoc is a super cool arcade game that has never made it to Atari game systems. We're jumping back into MAME for this Squad Challenge and once again if you need help with Emulation, please ask! There are enough kind and knowledgable people in the forums who will be here to help you get up and running. If you're new to Emulation, be sure to stop by our Emulation forum. Instructions and ROM are provided below. You may play this game using emulation (MAME) through whatever means necessary, through "arcade classics" mamecades, or play on real hardware using an original arcade machine. And a special WELCOME to all our new Members playing in this Squad Challenge! Good luck to everybody participating! NOTE: Another great Squad Challenge is right around the corner! major_havoc.pdf
  14. Congratulations Socrates63! Congratulations to @socrates63 on his second win in a row and for becoming our first MAME Champion! We had solid turnout and real spirit for our first MAME Squad Challenge, I want to thank everyone for doing whatever you had to do to participate! Some of you are MAME experts, others learned on the fly. There was a lot of help in these forums going back-and-forth to help get people get set up and going on MAME, it's really awesome to see you guys coming together like that. @socrates63 is our champion for this Squad Challenge, taking the top spot in our Final Standings to claim 1st Place with 53,850 points. What an achievement! @nosweargamer was ferocious with his elevator action and takes 2nd Place with 30,150 Points. @btbfilms76 came in with a strong showing to take our 3rd spot on the board with 19,550 points. @MaliciousCarp was hot on BTB's tail, and @DegasElite @RickR and @HDN round out the board all with their best scores! Congratulations to @socrates63 for his big win, and as always I'd like to encourage Sabertooth to post his new high score on the Scoreboard, and let's make sure this Challenge continues on! Also, we're closing in on the home stretch for BTB's Atari 7800 Paddle Controllers Giveaway! IT'S NOT TOO LATE TO ENTER! We'll be having our 7800 Paddles Giveaway and announcing a winner on December 1st. To keep a running list of who's entered into BTB's Atari 7800 Paddle Controllers Giveaway Contest, so far the following Members have asked to be entered and are permanently enrolled through the rest of the contest: @RickR @Sabertooth @nosweargamer @TrekMD @socrates63 @HDN @Atari Creep. Does OpenEmu work as well? I think it uses MAME as an emulator. Thanks, Justin.
