Justin reacted to RickR in Restoration Project - Commodore Educator PET-64
As noted in the "pickups" thread, I recently lucked into purchasing a very rare computer, the Commodore PET-64. I'm going to use this thread to document the process and progress in restoring this computer.
GOALS:
Make the computer fully functional and enjoy playing some C64 games on it. Make it presentable for permanent display on a desk in my gaming room. Do no harm! If I can't fix it without destroying it, leave it alone. Current State:
It is extremely dirty on the outside. The computer does power on! The keyboard and screen work! However, the computer freezes after about 30 seconds. No idea on the condition of the SID chip. The "5" key on the keyboard has broken off (the stem is broken). I have the key with stem still attached. Here it is in the initial state:

From that list, there are only three I haven't ever seen. I'm not sure I want to 🙂 Avatar is one I probably should watch, but the long run time always discourages me.

I just want to comment that...YES it is possible for me to hide the metal plate inside the shell, but I don't because that puts too much stress on the plastic and actually requires me to remove more plastic in order to fit the DB15 and space around it for a VGA cable to be plugged into it. And that means, less plastic around the standoffs to secure everything into place. So, this is the compromise I came up with. The advantage of mounting it there, means the VGA cable isn't in the way of your hands as you play, and the console won't feel top heavy with a cable stuck off the top of it (The only other place there is room). Also with a cable attach, the Lynx will sit up on a flat surface with the VGA cable acting as a kick stand of sorts LOL!

Depending on what needs to be done, I can provide some services on the PCE yes. Not the Turbo Express though as I've never worked on those and there are many others out there that specialize in it more like Ben Fong from IfixRetro for instance.
But I've got a PCE core grafx on the bench getting an RGB upgrade put in as I type this.

Here’s what mine looks like. VGA and McWill LCD screen upgrade. The screen looks better than what’s displayed in the picture.

Justin reacted to Sabertooth in Atari XP Physical Releases - Atari Releasing New Atari 2600 Game Cartridges!
This was a missed opportunity to do the 7800 version. I imagine that the XP folks in PA don't have a board for that. I also think that if you look at the Butcher Billy 50YOA NFTs, Desert Falcon and Tempest are likely candidates for future XP releases.
