  1. I finished watching it; they really did fast forward things to the 90's, but it felt right at the same time for the flow of the show. Was really sad to see it end, but I enjoyed every episode and the way they finished things at the end of the series. I'm really glad it didn't get cancelled at the end of season 2 as rumored; it would have been AN ending, but not the ending this show deserved.

  2. One issue I noticed with my SNES classic is input lag with our Samsung 55” if I don’t turn it on before turning the TV on. Weird but true; found the issue with other hdmi devices and Samsung tv’s on Google. Don’t have the issue with our 65” Sony’s.

I have a cheap composite to hdmi adapter and it’s shown video quality issues and input lag when I tried to use it with my Intellivision Flashback and Atari Flashback 4. It worked ok with my N64 though (ok being the key word; no input lag but video quality was still not great).

If your HD set still has composite in likely that’s your best bet; if it doesn’t then one of these cheap adapters is better than nothing, but YMMV.

  3. Episode 4 - Boxyboy is now available!

    Thanks for listening!

  4. A buddy of mine was moving and stumbled on a 2600 Jr he had lying around, and told me I could have it! Didn’t have a power supply or anything else with it, so I picked up a Retro-bit 2600 AC adapter and fired it up. The picture had a some jailbars and very staticky sound. I tore it apart, and dusted it out to see if that made any difference, and of course it didn’t. I then took off the shielding and tried it again, and the static in the sound is gone, and the picture still isn’t perfect, but it’s much clearer. Any idea why the shielding would be causing interference? I’m guessing it’s grounding out somewhere?

Another question: I’m really interested in doing an AV mod on this since it’s a spare (I have my 7800 as my main system still)... is there a kit anyone would recommend?

  5. I've got an extra "Amidar", but no Popeye :(

I think that one is priced fine.  Free shipping makes it good.  Maybe a touch high, but it looks to be in nice condition.

I think I'll go ahead and pull the trigger on it... I was thinking 5 dollars was a good limit, but the only ones in that range have messed up labels. I don't see it turn up in the local retro shops too much either so that's a factor. Thanks!

  6. I'm really trying to snag a 2600 Popeye cart... kind of embarrassed when I went to play it to give feedback for Ferg's podcast and it wasn't on my shelf  :o

Does this seem reasonable or overpriced?

If someone has one on here available for sale or trade just let me know, thanks!

  7. I only have a Coleco FB and it doesn't have the Nintendo licensed titles. That is one of the main issues with both the Coleco and Intellivision units. The controllers are cool and the emulation is good, but no DK on the Colecovision FB and no BurgerTime! on the INTV?!!! Crazy.

What do you folks use for CV emulation?

Burgertime, Lock N Chase, and the Imagic titles are the main reason I asked my wife for a real INTV for Xmas a while ago.
