  1. True. This is a good point. I have wrestled with that myself. It could lower the value definitely. Interesting to think about, though. :O)
  2. Getting back to my previous post, I wonder if there are professional agencies that restore video game boxes, cartridges, and artwork. I can't really think of any at the moment. Does anyone have any ideas? Just curious. It seems it would be a fledgling industry, if it exists at all. Thanks. :O)
  3. It would be nice to see multiple-terabyte-sized SSDs get cheaper. It would really extend the life spans of my computers. Especially, my iMac. That is in the shop now getting refitted with a 5TB drive and 32GB of RAM. Unfortunately, a large SSD of that caliber would be over $600.00, most likely. That's way out of my price range ATM. It's an older Mac, but it still does what I want it to do, and that's OK with me. So, I can't complain. :O)
  4. I also want to figure out a way not really to reproduce game art, but to restore existing game art like older game boxes and cart labels. I want to restore it to original condition as much as possible. If it can be done without damaging the artwork more, for posterity, I would like to explore that. I would like to explore that option. There must be a way to do it safely and within artistic license without altering the intrinsic value of the artwork. That would be interesting. Difficult, but interesting. This is ongoing, and not just for 2022. Thanks for letting me share. :O)
  5. I want to try to get more Atari Lynx games for my collection. I think I have 44 now, but it isn't complete. It's a sweet little handheld. I give it TLC. :O)
  6. This is interesting. Thanks for posting this. :O)
  7. That would be really cool to build. Thanks for posting, Justin. :O)
  8. Thanks for showing this tutorial, Justin. I am sure it will come in handy as a great tutorial for those people who want to restore this stuff for posterity. :O)
  9. Thanks for the tip, CrossBow. I will remember that about the controllers and the warning about swapping them with the power on. :O)
  10. Besides, if you got the McWill LCD, it might be altered even more because of the VGA output. I think that's optional, though. BennVenn looks less invasive.
  11. It seems sort of easy to do. From the looks of it, anyway. I don't know. I have never used a BennVenn or McWill upgrade for my Lynx. It does look promising, though, and the price is right. If you need it, I guess go for it, @Atari 5200 Guy. I know how you feel, though, about upgrading it. But, if it needs to be done, do you have any alternative? That is the $60,000.00 question. Unless you can find original parts, which I am sure are expensive, you might have to go for it. It's up to you. Thanks for letting me share. :O)
  12. Well, even for a rare cart, $570.00 is a lot of money. But, I guess for that cart, it's money well spent because of its rarity. I have seen mint Frogger games on eBay for the Atari 2600 on sale for $999.00. But, they are professionally graded for quality and that's why they are so expensive. They're even sealed for quality in a protective case.
  13. Hello, Atari I/O Users! I have a question for anyone out there who knows this. I want to upgrade my Atari MegaSTE to something somewhat more modern. Here are upgrades I was thinking about: CosmosEx with Raspberry Pi CPU upgrade (is the TF536 ST Edition still discontinued?) RAM upgrade CD-R drive (if possible) A way to hook up my UMAX Astra 1220S scanner to my computer (I have software that may interface with it) SD hard drive interface (like Masteries' ACSI2STM interface or SCSI2SD, or possibly both) A way to hook up a laser printer Possibly, USB ports Is there still a way to get these upgrades done for my MegaSTE? Or, because of the pandemic, am I just wishfully thinking? I really want to get my computer more modernized in some way. Again, if anyone has any info, please respond to this topic. I would be grateful. Thanks. :O)
  14. Hey, guys, I have a question that seems pretty technical. I used MiGraph TouchUp to scan a panoramic image of a skyline I drew in four parts. This was scanned on an Atari 1040STE computer. Here's what I want to do. I now use an Atari MegaSTE computer, and I want to colorize the .IMG images. But, they are gray-scale. Question: how do I convert the .IMG file to color in another program, and what program do I use? TouchUp only works in gray-scale. What other apps for the ST can read .IMG images? If anyone knows here, I would be truly grateful. Here are the apps at my disposal: Batteries Inc. DEGAS & DEGAS Elite Epyx Art & Film Director Atari HyperPaint 2 Rainbird Advanced OCP Art Program NeoChrome MiGraph TouchUp Spectrum 512 Could any of these read .IMG files, or do I need another app? Thanks. :O)
  15. Me neither. It truly is a challenge. Got to hand that to Epyx. They made great games, especially Impossible Mission.
  16. I think I have every Atari NTSC A7800 release myself. It's either 56 or 57 games. Plus, I have 3rd party games for the A7800. I also have Sentinel for the A7800. I would like to get the possible NTSC version of Impossible Mission, which was hacked from PAL of course.
  17. Not at present, but I am considering it. I have to think about it. It was a general question. Thanks. :O)
  18. I have never seen a picture of this game before. I think I have heard of it, though. Interesting.
  19. Anyway, from the specs, it looks like a great machine. I would think the games would look pretty good on there, and from what I have seen they do. Hope it was enjoyable. :O)
