The stand is only about 35 miles away from me. Which doesn't sound all that bad. Honestly id have to take the 91 freeway over there. That's like one of the nation's worst freeways. It'll probably take like 2.5 hours round trip.

Working a bit more in the game room again.

    So messy.
Can't wait for it to be done!

Here's the best I've been able to get, 3'222. Played on my 7800 with paddles.  I have to say this game is going in my top 10 of 2600 games. Very fun, great choice for the high score challenge.

Seriously!  I guess it's still hard to find.

If you need one Greenween, I'm pretty sure I can get one at the Target by my work.

A recent Patreon-exclusive video by The Nosweargamer inspired me to hang this little shelf for knick-knacks above my computer monitor  I found the shelf at Goodwill for $2 and gave it a coat of white paint.  I think I need more knick-knacks now.

That's true.  Makes the game a lot of fun, that's for sure.  And I think you may be right in the first place.  Some people have gotten the same effect by frying instead of just holding down reset.

Well, whether frying or bug, it is quite useful!

I don't think that's considered "frying".  Just a bug maybe?
I remember Pitfall 2 had a frying effect where you'd start somewhere different.

    I love the 5200. It's vastly underrated.
I love it. It looks so good! It took me, my brother and an appliance dolly to bring it up 15 steps to the 2nd floor. Just found the user manual online. It weighs 171 pounds.

Not really sure what I'm gonna do with it yet.

This was done by either flicking the 2600 power switch on and off rapidly or sometimes merely inserting or removing a cartridge with the power on, weird glitches and effects caused by power fluctuations. I was reminded of this after just watching this video by no swear gamer on youtube.

lol, for better or worse I use to FRY my 2600 games continuously back in the day, honestly was not even aware of the term frying, thought it was a silly thing I discovered myself, no doubt many thought that. In Firefighter I think it was called? Got my fireman stuck in the building with no victims to rescue, you could get some odd effects flicking the power switch. Used to get similar effects on Colecovision running a butter knife along the terminals of the expansion port...now THAT might have just been me.

I had a subscription for most of the run.  I found the first issue at K-Mart while looking at Atari VCS games and was immediately hooked.

I sold my complete set of Electronic Games a few years ago.  Issue #1 alone brought in close to $100.  A lot of people ask me how I could sell something like that?  Well, they took up a lot of room.  And I didn't have the means to store them properly for long-term preservation.  They were just sitting in a crate in my garage.  I felt like every time I pulled out out to read, I was diminishing the value.  When you get that fear of even touching your stuff -- when you are no longer really enjoying it -- I find for me personally -- that's the time to sell it.  I don't ever want to have stuff I fear to touch and can't use.

Furthermore, my set was very well used.  I read them cover to cover multiple times.  For the money I got, given the condition, I felt like the value would never be higher.

I did keep a book called "Confessions of the Game Doctor" by Bill Kunkel, one of the founders of the magazine.  It's a fascinating read and has a ton of stories specific to that era of videogaming.  If you ever find a copy of that book, I highly recommend it.

I'm asking myself right now -- any regrets for selling?  My brain says "Nope".  So there you go.  Having the PDF versions is good enough for me.

I should have taken a pic of all the mess. ????

I just started moving into my new apartment today. I have about 90% of my games there and only a Super Nintendo I didn't know I had that I found in a random box I had in storage. There was also an Atari 5200 with the hookups but no controllers. I also got my 32" Sony Trinitron in the room too that I've had in storage for 2 years. Finally tried it to see if it works and it does. We played some Tetris on it and it looks so nice. So happy I'm finally using my Trinitron crt! Can't wait to get everything all set up.

Any of the Burgess Meredith episodes, with "Time Enough at Last" being the highlight.  There's just something about this actor that fits the show to a tee.
"To Serve Man".  Richard Kiel as the main alien is just about the most perfect casting of all time.
"It's a Good Life".  Billy Mumy, the creepy jack-in-the-box, the absolute perfect story.
"Will the Real Martian Please Stand Up?".  Wonderful ensemble cast.  I love the ending.  The Martian is the only person I know who could hold an N64 controller correctly.
"The Howling Man".  Terrifying portrayal of the devil.
