  1. Update: I was able to procure a replacement disc 1, and the game works like a charm.
  2. First, I got the Game Boy Camera. Now, I have the e-Reader. My next conquest must be the Game Boy Printer. Then my Game Boy Advance shall be appeased.

Can you still get paper for that printer?

    eBay Finds

It works with the Game Boy Advance to do AMAZING things like play NES games, add stuff to Pokemon games, add new levels to Super Mario Advance, and, if you have the GameCube/GBA connector cable, it can be used to add cool stuff to games like Animal Crossing.
  4. I'm with you on Gyromite, Kamakazi. If Nintendo had at least bothered to make more than just TWO games for ROB, then it would have at least make him somewhat useful. Instead, beside being a neat concept, the execution fell completely flat. That said, I TOTALLY want my own ROB. Ugh, he's too EXPENSIVE.

    eBay Finds

My latest Ebay find. The wonderfully obscure, possibly cheesy, and totally awesome Nintendo e-Reader. A darn shame this thing never made a bigger impact. It's delightfully high-tech in a Nintendo kind of way. Anyway, it comes with Clu Clu Land-e, Donkey Kong Jr.-e, Tennis-e, and Manhole-e. All this for just $16.99.
  6. My top 4 worst: 1. Pac-Man in the later 2600s: A game so bad they resorted to giving it away free with their consoles. 2. Super Breakout for the 5200: For the same reason as Rick mentioned. I mean come on Atari, nobody wanted more Breakout. 3. Mario's Tennis for the Virtual Boy: While not bad, per sé, I think it was probably a rather lackluster pack-in title for North America. 4. Altered Beast for the Genesis: Thank God Sega of America wised up and switched this for Sonic the Hedgehog. Altered Beast is fine enough, in short bursts, but good Lord, it has not really aged all that well. I consider it vastly subpar to what could be found on the SNES, so the decision to go with Sonic instead was brilliant in the long run.
  7. I'm not sure that taking it to a local Gamestop would help. I want a replacement for just disc 1, but according to the return policy, I have to return the entire product, and I'm not convinced I'll get another complete set in return.
  8. I think I'll just buy a replacement disc from Ebay. That's the simplest solution for me.
  9. Not thrift store finds, but rather Gamestop. Gran Turismo 2 for PS1, Chrono Cross for PS1, and Dragon Quest Swords: The Masked Queen and the Tower of Mirrors for the Wii.
  10. @RickR Ooh, how do I do that? I tried looking on the website, but all I could find was returns and refunds info, but nothing about replacement. Should I send them an email? @Kamakazi I don't normally go through Gamestop for retro stuff, but I recently won a couple Gamestop giftcards online, so I decided to go vintage. Regarding the disc itself, it looks perfect. No scratches on front or back. I can see where it was rebuffed, too, and I've never had a rebuffed disc act up before, so the sudden game freeze was completely unexpected.
  11. I'll try cleaning it like you suggest. If that doesn't work, a quick Ebay search shows me that I can replace disc 1 cheaply if absolutely necessary. I suppose I could try to get a refund for it from Gamestop, where I got it from in the first place, but I'll admit to having been very pleased at receiving not only the game but the case and manual as well, and knowing Gamestop, there's no guarantee a replacement copy of Chrono Cross would also be complete.
  12. I recently purchased Chrono Cross online, and both discs look perfectly fine, but while I was playing the game today it freezes up at the exact same place every time I try to play it. I thought at first it was simply an incompatibility with my PS2, but the same problem happens on my PSOne as well. Any ideas what may be wrong? I don't want this to be a waste of $17.
  13. Well, it looks like my recently acquired copy of Chrono Cross is defective. It completely freezes up for no apparent reason.

Try having the disc resurfaced. Any local used game store could probably do this for you if you ask nicely.

  14. I am drooling over that Video Touch Pad. I have Star Raiders, but if I recall, it's impossible to play without the touch pad.
  15. Couple of Facebook finds I've made recently. FF8 was $15, and Magical Starsign was $11.
  16. Wow, that's some gorgeous stuff.
  17. I have a Light Sixer that has horrendous RF interference. I tried everything I could think of to fix it, but eventually gave up on it. I wonder if any of this would help it.
  18. These games are most definitely not my cup of tea, so I'd never collect them.
  19. The lot I bought included Manhole-E, Donkey Kong Jr.-E, Tennis-E, and Clu Clu Land-E. A treat to myself with a Ebay gift certificate I received. EDIT: Another update is I'm looking to perhaps start selling things on Ebay. I only have a few things I wanna sell right now, but thought I'd give a heads up here first.
  20. I seem to be on a Playstation RPG kick lately; first Final Fantasy VIII, and now Chrono Cross. So many RPGs, so little time...

Some of the best RPGs are on that system. If you can splurge for it Final Fantasy IX is solid. There's tons on that system!

Final Fantasy Tactics is also great for PS1.

I love FF, but just never could get into FF8. FF 9 is my personal fave for the PS1. Tactics is very solid!

  21. Welp, I'm now the happy owner of a Nintendo E-Reader, and a Gamecube/Game Boy Advance connector cable. I'll post pics eventually.
  22. Seeing a kid mention 8-track warms the cockles of my soul.
