Well, true. It was a European cartoon. It was a French production from Gaumont Television, IIRC. It would have been nice if it had stuff based on the actual movie, not so much the animated series.

You are talking about Todd's Adventures in Slime World here I assume? Convenience mainly. I keep one Lynx in the display case and the other in a Lynx padded case. So again, it is just easier for me to pop in the Genesis version of most of these games as it is more at the ready. I also tend to prefer the YM synth music/sound over the chiptune music/sounds of most games as well. I also prefer the controls in the Genesis version of Slime World.

I got Retroarch working on an Amazon Fire Tablet!
I managed to install the google play store (Don't ask me how, I seriously don't understand it... it involved downloading a bunch of questionable apk files and installing them in a magic order that made them work)
Once that was installed -- Retroarch worked immediately. There are two Atari Lynx cores, I am not sure what the difference is, but it just seems to work!
Now I just need to figure out this game 🙂

One More Thing
Here's a nice 6 min. overview of Chip's Challenge from @btbfilms76 Remembering Dave Needle, discussing "Geek Shiek", walking on water and getting familiar with Chip's Challenge:

Alien Brigade is really the only game that can use both joystick/light gun that pretty much requires the light gun in this case. At least with Crossbow it is easy to line up along the line of something that you know can cause serious harm to the party member walking across the screen and just move left and right to take them out quickly. But with Alien brigade there is way too much happening all over the screen at once. I've never been able to beat AB with joystick but have gotten quite far in it. However, once I got me an XE lightgun about 3 years ago and plugged it up to my CRT. I actually beat it on my first run through. Surprisingly, I didn't do as well with Crossbow with a light gun as I've come to using the joysticks.
Alien Brigade is one of the most impressive overall games for the 7800 as far as the graphics and use of the sound. Too bad more games with as much complexity didn't get developed.

How did you pronounce it... Wait I don't care lol. More "Heroes Run Right" on todays episode of Lynx Lounge. We covered the arcade port a while back and now its time for the NES post, have you played it? Do you have it? What do you think about it? Sound off troops, lets hear what you think.

I could never get into Shadow of the Beast for any platform. I own the Genesis version and there was a version released for the PC as well back in the day. Just...never clicked with me. I think the main issue is that the combat is more about single timed punches or kicks and I've never been fond of games with cheap deaths of which, Shadow of the beast is famous for.
The previous game you covered, Todd's Adventures in Slimeworld is a different story. I think that game is great! Although I do tend to play my Genesis release of it more than the Lynx version.

One of the few games that has some originality and shows what the 7800 is capable of. Good Video Dudes 🙂
