So over the past month ive been going to the 3 closest Toys R Us around me. They started at 5-10% off everything and then went to $15-30% now they are at 50-60% off everything. All the managers told me that the last date they will sell stuff is june 27th.
 
All the video games are basically gone in all of the stores near me. I wanted to get a karate champ or a burger time mini arcade, but they got gone when they were 5% off and with toys r us that means they were 5% off the marked up price they put on them. They still had some smash bros amiibos, but they were still 40% off 15.99! I remember when smash bros amiibos were at walmart and gamestop and they were 12.99.
 
2 of the 3 still have the switch and 3DS kiosks 1 of them told me they dont know what is happening with it and the other told me they have to take it out back cut the wires and take a hammer to it! He wouldnt hold it for me either.
 
1 of the stores told me that on the 27th they are taking down all of the display signs and chucking them in their back dumpster. She said she wasnt sure if they were gonna rip them up or not
 
So has anyone else been to their local Toys R Us and bought anything? Are you looking to get and signage when they do close?

Well, I did go today after all.  The games are 60% off.  Got 3 titles for the PS4:  Battleborn, Mudd Runner, and Air Conflicts.  I paid $34 for all of them.

I went in early on but didn't find anything of interest and the games were not being discounted. I haven't been in one since.  I'll probably go to one today just to check it out.

I'd say a good working Game Gear has a much nicer original screen than a Lynx.  But to be honest, I've been thinking about having a Game Gear done too.

No.  Those were easy sales.  Good luck, though.  I've never seen any in the wild.  Ebay was the only option for finding them for me. 

I agree.  I had one and sold it.  The games are hard to find, and since they are all for kids...it just sat collecting dust for me.  But they are really cool. 

I do remember in high school our computer class getting subscriptions to Computer Shopper. I owned a CoCo 3 and 386 at the time and would look through those mags for anything to help spruce up my 386. I stuck with local businesses for upgrades but used the mag to figure out what was available and to keep up with new upgrades and computer builds. It was a computer bible in many ways.

Then you could use the $200 to get more games. Start buying games for another system maybe?
 
How can there be too much when they are organized nice and neatly? I do my chores so I feel like I earn my right to have those games lol.

The Pico is really a Genesis on the hardware side.

Im just curious as to how many games everyone has in their collection (not counting duplicates). For all system the total amount.
 
I just recently downloaded an app on my phone that lets me put in my collection of games. A few times i have bought a game thinking i didnt have it and when i got home there is was on the shelf. Its been great and very helpful.
 
Anyway im up to 665 games total. I know about 150 of them are Atari 2600 and 100 NES.

According to 78% of wives there is! 

If I had a dollar for every time I heard “another Atari game?!?” I’d have over 200 dollars :-)

Not me.  I used to.  But I sold them all.  They take up a lot of space. 

What were the ones in the 80's? Electronic Games? I used to love those, bought them every month back then. I'm pretty sure there's a site that has them all cataloged in PDF form which is great now so you don't need all those magazines taking up space. I used to have all the Rainbow magazines in the 80s too which was the monthly magazine for the Tandy Color Computer. 
 
If I come across older gaming magazines I'll usually just pick them up to read through a bit and then re-donate them.

I used to. Back in the 70's and 80's. Typically what I could get at the drugstore or supermarket. Nowadays it'll be pdf for me.

I only kept a few of those old magazines.  Nowadays I try to get everything video game related in electronic format.
