I got the lamp (yes, I love lamp!) as a Christmas gift some years ago, but I believe it came from ThinkGeek: http://www.thinkgeek.com/product/f034/

Nice setup! So the new TV is 20" or so? Those aren't bad weight-wise. I thought it was a 32".
We used to have a 32" CRT TV upstairs, and it took me, my wife, and my son to get it down the stairs and into the car (to haul it to Salvation Army!) My next door neighbor, who is quite burly, took pity and grabbed it from us and carried it the last 10 feet or so. I call him Hercules now. Then, when we got to SA, the worker there went to the back of the car. Before I could finish saying "Be careful, it's really heavy"...the dude was casually lifting and carrying it into the building. Is there a moral to this long-winded story? Yes -- I have noodle arms.

Package from nosweargamer is in! Speaking of fun with numbers... getting a copy of Secret Quest means one more SARA Superchip game crossed off my list:
Cartridges with the Superchip weigh a fraction of an ounce more than most Atari cartridges -- for example:
And since we're weighing things, why not:
Thanks again!

jmjustin6 reacted to Justin in Atari Video System X
Yes, and I think we may have more to talk about regarding the Atari Video System X sometime soon
The Video System X to me is much more than what the 5200 ended up being, it's the embodiment of that hope and that idea we dreamed of when reading about "the next new Atari" in magazines like Electronic Games. Atari had so much promise at that time. It was inconceivable that the next Atari system would be anything other than out of this world.

Just watching the Video System X video here:

So Justin, do you actually have that prototype? How absolutely cool! I remember reading about the "Video System X" right after the show in Electronic Games magazine. Exciting times!

jmjustin6 reacted to fergojisan in What ever happened to the Swordquest prizes?
Swordquest is all about the contest, the games are just a tool to enter the contest. Two of them are okay games, but all of them are kind of pointless if you're not entering the contest.

jmjustin6 reacted to Yo-Yo in What ever happened to the Swordquest prizes?
I really want to like Swordquest but I find it hard to follow, even with the comic books. It's a cool idea that was probably too big for the 2600 to do very well.

Interesting research on what happened to the prizes that were and weren't awarded. Looks like only the chalice remains.
