On the 2600 "rarer scale" I have a few but they only hit the R4 mark.    I need to do more hunting for 2600 carts

Believe it or not...I never knew of the Amiga or the ST until long after they were gone.  I think most of it was because I was more into consoles and I had a 386 where I was enjoying a LOT of shareware games.  Namely Wolfenstein and Doom.  Wouldn't mind seeing one in person, though.

Red Label DK Jr. is the rarest I own. It's sad.

    KidA's post got me thinking...

    What's YOUR rarest VCS cart?

Mine is "Shuttle Orbiter", which is an R7 in the Atari Age guide.

I also have a silver label Gravitar (R8), but it's for sale -- not part of my collection.

It used to be River Patrol (R9)
but right now it's Glib (R9)

Once I review games, I usually sell or trade them so I can purchase more titles to review. Also space is limited, so my goal is actually to shrink my library instead of growing it. I'm hoping one day to whittle my entire collection down to 100 physical games or less. (I'm guessing it's more like 1,000 right now with about 200 being 2600 games)

I have nothing even remotely rare for my collection.   I have Star Strike, but its for sale.

Nope, never really had anything rare.

Without question the Flag Capture '78 picture label -- three copies are currently known to exist.  Of course Flag Capture is an extremely common game, all things considered, so if we're talking unique NTSC games and not cart variants (or PAL releases)...

I'd suppose it would be Quadrun (R9) or Texas Chainsaw Massacre (R7).

The AA Rarity Guide hasn't been updated in many years and could use an overhaul.  Games like Quadrun, SQ: Waterworld, Berenstain Bears, Glib, etc. don't belong in the same rarity category as Lochjaw, Malagai, Cakewalk, etc.  I have a number of supposed R8s in my collection, but none seem as rare as the R7 Texas Chainsaw Massacre.  Quadrun should also probably be downgraded IMO.

For 2600, I don't have anything remarkable. I only physically own what I had when I was a kid plus additional Imagic games and home brew. Everything else is on a Harmony. Now if we want to talk about Jaguar....

Right now the rarest 2600 game i have is pitfall 2. Not too many people selling atari stuff in my area and i would never think of paying ebay prices on some rare games i do want (Halloween)

If other mentioned attempts don't work, you might have to change a few caps.  Namely the one next to the AC power in jack and the one under the large cap (it should be wide and green).  I had to perform this on mine and my signal is pretty good now.  And similar cap with the same ratings will work as long as they are of the ceramic family.  I'm not sure if ones from the electrolytic family will work or not.  And I'm using RC to coax as well.  Another small trick to try, while the TV and 2600 are on rotate the console's coax inside the RCA to coax to see if it distorts or clears up.  These systems are very old and the cords fail from age easily.  It's only copper after all  I also noticed that if I bunched up the excess wires from the system to the TV and banded them (RF separate from AC of course) sometimes this helps with the signal quality as well.  Hope those help.

Not at all. We've been discussing Atari Cup internally almost every day. It's a big, seasonal commitment and needs to be done right.

In the meantime while we get the Tournament together, why don't you check out Danisen League and initiate a challenge with a friend? Danisen League could use some love. Here's how to play: http://forums.atari.io/index.php/topic/1217-danisen-league-how-to-play/
