Yo-Yo
i think thats how they got games like Mouse Trap and why there was a coleco release and an atari release later on: Sabertooth, TeddyGermany and Lost Dragon
TeddyGermany
Yes, that is the story of the 2600-versions. But the 7800-titles weren't produced by Coleco. They were made by Atari Corporation. I think, that's another breathtaking story on atari.io. @BTB: Now i have seen the new episode. Great stuff and your guests are very congenial. Btw. TeddyGermany
@ BTB Sounds familiar to me. I had played the 2600-version of Donkey Kong and the same thoughts about it. The Intellivision-version of Donkey Kong looks a little bit like 'Practical Pig vs. Swamp Thing' to me. Sabertooth
Entertaining as always. I'll have to make a drive out to Pixel Vault and check them out. When you look at the 2600, 5200, A8 and NES ports of Mario Bros., the player sprites are much larger compared to the squat 7800 sprites. As the 7800 version of Mario Bros. came out much later than Super Mario Bros. on NES, I've always wondered if the player sprites on the 7800 port were modeled on the "small" Mario in SMS. Any thoughts? Edited March 11, 2017 by atarilbc Lost Dragon
