DegasElite got a reaction from MaximumRD in Atari ST Essentials
Right-click where it says 499 Items on the PDF option on the web page. You will be able to download all as a ZIP, or right-click on PDF on Firefox. It should give you the option to download as a ZIP as well. Be warned: it is 1.3 GB in size. If you have a fast Internet connection, and I assume that you do, it will download in 10-20 minutes. Thanks.

DegasElite got a reaction from MaximumRD in What Movies Do You Associate Most With Atari?
It looks like Seaquest to me. It is definitely an ActiVision game. That's for sure.

DegasElite got a reaction from Justin in What Movies Do You Associate Most With Atari?
I would say Tron, because I heard that the 1982 movie was created with the help of Atari 8-bit computers. That would be a feat, though, considering how big the render farm would have to be.

I have heard that on different TV shows, including cartoons.

DegasElite got a reaction from MaximumRD in How is the weather in your neck of the Woods ?
In Minnesota, right in my neck of the woods, it is currently clear and 14ºF. It is supposed to get colder as the days trudge on. It feels like 4ºF. It could get to -3ºF in temperature. Since we do not utilize the metric system much in the US, I do not know the conversion from Fahrenheit to Celsius off-hand. We are so used to the Fahrenheit scale for temperature measurement here, as you all know. Thanks.

DegasElite reacted to Jinroh in Carrot Kingdom® - Work in Progress 32K! - New Demo 10-16-2017
Thanks so much! I am working as quickly as I can to get it out to you guys. :3 The list is ever dwindling. :3
Oh really neat! I would love to see what you could come up with though once you get more time. I know what you mean though. I work full time, go to university full time, and raise my family so I have only a few hours a week to work on the game bleh. At least it is nearing completion. I just have the last few levels and the final boss to complete and it is done!
Plenty of updates, though yes 2 years since the last demo. I was going to release an intermediary demo, but I am within the finish line of finishing the game so I figured let me just push and try to get it out as soon as I can.

DegasElite reacted to TrekMD in Howard Scott Warshaw’s video game was blamed for single-handedly sinking a multibillion-dollar market. But the true story is more complicated.
This is a fallacy that keeps on getting repeated. The crash came for a multitude of reasons and ET certainly was not the worst games ever. There are plenty other really horrid titles on the 2600 from companies that tried to get easy money from video games. ET wasn't perfect but it could be played and it was rather involved for a 2600 game. You just needed to read the manual. A bit more polish could have made the game better and, in fact, someone has done this and fixed the issues with the game to make it more fun to play.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year in 2020. Great screenshot, by the way, Kamakazi.

DegasElite got a reaction from Jinroh in FS List.
Interesting. I never knew that the Japanese made that. Nice find.
I hope that you are able to sell it then. It should be quite a collector's item.

Or…, was it made by the Japanese? The company say that their location was in Walnut, California. Impressive.

Love the posters! You can recognize all the games that they represent. Way cool!

DegasElite got a reaction from RickR in What's everybody doing for Halloween this year?
On Halloween 1991, we received over two feet of snow in one day. It blocked the roads and no one could go anywhere. It is known here in Minnesota as the "Halloween Megastorm." People died from shoveling snow due to heart attacks. At least, IIRC. It was one really bad snowstorm, that was for sure. I was stranded in Minneapolis that day. I wanted to see my folks in Saint Paul, but could not do it. Obvious reasons.

Well, unfortunately, I could not dress up last night. But, I watched "Stranger Things" yesterday on Netflix with my girlfriend, who just moved in with me. She move in yesterday of all days. It was fun. Also, I played "Dragon's Lair" on my Jaguar CD, just as I said I would. Although I did not get very far in it, I enjoyed it. I have not played the game in a while. I have finished the game before and rescued Princess Daphne, but it has been years since then. I am pleased that my Jaguar CD works so well. I think that "Dragon's Lair" would be a great game to play for the Halloween season. It is about a haunted castle, after all. Thanks for letting me share.

Knowing me, I might try to play Dragon's Lair for the Jag CD on Halloween. Maybe. Aside from that, there is a costume party coming up. I want to dress up and look like an elderly person with makeup to make me look aged. Just an experiment, that's all.

DegasElite got a reaction from MaximumRD in Starpath Supercharger seems kind of cool....
I bought a SuperCharger from V61 back in the day. Back then, it was about $29.95, I believe. That was about twenty years ago. I still have it and it works beautifully. I would like to get a Harmony cartridge as well, but it is too cost-prohibitive for me at this time. Maybe, I will do that in the future, but I am pleased with the SuperCharger and the fact that I have the Stella Gets a New Brain CD. If you can find a copy of that CD and a SuperCharger, I would say get it. Otherwise, you could try to get the ROMs converted to Harmony-compatible binaries. But, I would still love to play my CD on the original hardware, because I can. Thanks for letting me share.
