Just an FYI, do your research, I could be wrong but my understanding regarding the Flashback 9 is old paddles are not compatible, new FB 9 specific paddles are apparently coming but I do not know the status of it.

I think we've all clamored for that SD card slot, so I think I'm going to go ahead and get one of these!

I'm new around here! My name is 'Dan' but I go by the online moniker 'Rocky Raccoon'. I've been collecting since about my teen years. I am currently 34. I like collecting a heck of a whole lot, and have a varied collection of consoles. My favorite era is probably the mid eighties, onwards. The first two machines I ever played on we're an Atari 2600 in my dad's basement on a B&W TV, and my Dad's Commodore 64. My favorite retrogame series is The Fantasy Zone series of games.
I was first introduced to collecting through a dear old friend back in MA, USA, and have been in the hobby since. I've been learning to get into the technical side of the hobby-- learning to fix consoles-- diagnose problems and fix them, though I still have a long ways to go-- though I do have a background in electronic schematic reading thanks to CAD courses I took in high school that have generally helped me a bunch there.
I learned about this place primarily through the NoSwearGamer on Youtube where this place was mentioned once in a while, and decided to come check it out. I also hang around AtariAge with the same user name.

I have always loved "Asteroids." I remember playing the game as a kid in the 1980s. Sometimes, I would get over 35,000 points. Maybe over 70,000 points, if I am not mistaken. Great game. Certainly a classic, but it is great nonetheless.
NOTE: By the way, I am the kind of person that loves getting a high score in a classic game over unlocking great achievements in a modern game with DLC. It just makes for great goal setting that way. The modern games, although still good, kind of take that away from the goal. Some do not even have a score anymore. I can understand that with JRPGs, but it can  be less fun sometimes to me anyway. When I was a kid, high scores were the thing. Same with a lot of you guys, I am sure. I loved those days.

    I do!

2600 Asteroids was one of those "Wow!" games for the system.  As in "how the heck did they pull this off?".  I can remember playing and playing and playing, and a bunch of other kids at school were doing the same thing.  It was a great port and it's still fun today.

Selling a house can be very stressful, even without the situation you're in.  Good to get offers quickly.  GOOD LUCK!

Listed the house the other day. The market is crazy here in coastal SoCal so we already have a few offers. This whole process started almost a year ago and the house sale marks it's completion. I have a lot of "feels" as the kids might say but I'm definitely optimistic about what the future holds. Also, I get some time back!  Bring on the gaming!
