Ooooh.  Too late.  Those look pretty sweet.

I just bought a "standard" modded 7800 on-line.  It looks and sounds pretty good.  But I hear those UAV boards are better still.

On the 2600, I couldn't stand Slot Racers.  It had one of the coolest box art of any game to date but the game itself was just plain awful!

Here's my end of the NSG trade.  Turbo (w manual), 7800 Kung-Fu Master, and cash considerations.  London Blitz was an extra added surprise because NSG is awesome.  I'm very excited!  Thanks!

Who remembers the good old days of building your own PC?  There were some really great web sites like Anandtech and Tom's Hardware that would review and compare the latest CPU's, motherboards, video cards, etc, and also fascinating topics like overclocking.  I remember carefully picking each component for my own build and then running benchmarks to compare with my buds.

Who's up for running a similar benchmark on their current PC?

    Go here:  www.userbenchmark.com

Click on the "free download" link and run the benchmark file.  Then post your results here.

    Here are mine:

    UserBenchmarks: Game 36%, Desk 84%, Work 61%
    CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K - 90.7%
    GPU: Nvidia GTX 660 - 29.8%

You should see if your new editing software does "Star wipes".  Because 50% more star wipes will make your video 100% better.

Add "Pac Man" to that list.  The Intellivision version is awesome.  I also really like "Beauty and the Beast".  Oh, and Dracula.

I think I've got a bunch in my duplicate box.  And overlays.

    Some great questions.
How hard is it to play without an overlay?  It depends on the game.  Some don't need an overlay.  For the sports games, they are very much needed.  If you don't have them, you can print out a PDF version and just keep it handy.  You don't have to put it on the controller, it's easy enough to just reference it.  Also, there are usually a lot of them in retro junk boxes -- especially if you request that some be added to the box. Finding them loose - probably not gonna happen.  Unless you find a boxed copy of a game.  It's best to just ask here, AtariAge, or even on Facebook for what you need.  There are a ton of very nice Intv people that will help you out. As mentioned, for MANY games, they are totally unnecessary.  And finally, I rarely put mine on the controller.  As mentioned earlier, just keep it on the desk for reference.

I didn't see any Sears version reasonably priced on eBay, which is kind of surprising.  But if it were me, I'd at least look for one of those before deciding.  It might also be worth asking if anyone on the Facebook "Intellivision Invasion" group has one for sale, or maybe a local retro gaming Facebook group.

If you are eager to get started, buying that Tandy is a good choice.

Oh I love posts like this!  Advice a coming.
Yes, this is a good deal. Do NOT get an Intellivision 2.  It's got compatibility issues with some third party games.  And the on/off-reset combo button is terrible. This Tandy unit is unique.  It's identical to a real Intellivision just with different coloring. My favorite Intellivision is the Sears Video Arcade version.  it's got detachable controllers AND no compatibility issues like the INTV 2.  And it's a lot cheaper to buy than the very unique Tandyvision.  In any case, I hope you give the Intv a go.  It's a great system.

So, is this a good deal? It seems like one.

If so, I'll pull the trigger. Then I'll hit up the forum for some games.

OR, would I be better of with an Intellivision 2? I haven't done any research to know which system is better, what the prices are, etc. I'm relying on you all, the experts.
    Thanks!

Getting the cable adapter is easier of course and also extends the cables in the process so that is a great way to go. I'm a cheap skate so I modded two of mine. It wasn't that difficult to be honest. Just had to crack them open and resolder the wires around. It was a good thing I did it too as one of the brand new controllers I ordered actually had two broken wires already from the crappy solder work that was done on the Intelly FB controllers.

That site your video links to is great.  When I was a kid, my dad would buy us one of the Corgi cars once in a while.  Over time, my brother and I collected probably 20 of them.  We still have them.  But they are all in "played-with" condition.  Still, they are great toys.  The best one was the James Bond Aston Martin with all the little gadgets (bulletproof shield, ejection seat, machine guns, etc).

Would you say it's easy to do that mod to the controllers?  I have a Sears Intv, and was thinking about doing the same.  The FB controllers are nicer.  The disc works more like a d-pad.

I had four, yes four, Intv systems from Goodwill auctions. While I loved the console and games the controllers were a different matter. Those fire buttons are a nightmare. I would support Tommy's efforts before I would pre order the Ataribox. Tommy loves video games too much not to succeed. I see a console war repeating itself. Atari vs Intellivision.
