More likely - Maybe they just felt they were hurting their own Switch sales -- competing against themselves.
This is sadly the likely the reasoning. All I can say is Nintendo continues to earn its spot in dead last place in the gaming industry.

Making room for the upcoming SNES Mini Classic?
Making room? I think there's a market for both.
Honestly though, Nintendo's behavior is going to reward those who snap up the SNES minis and scalp them. It doesn't reward their fans.
There's a reason why Nintendo hasn't competed with Microsoft or Sony since they both started making systems.

Scalper's delight. The price on this thing will be through the roof, and availability (which was scarce) just bottomed out.
I honestly can't figure out Nintendo's thinking on this one. They are just turning down money.- StormSurge, Justin, DCG and 1 other

I had one, but traded it to a friend and have never come across one in the wild since.
I really love the feel of it, but I never bothered because I didn't think the library was very expansive.I'll definitely keep my eyes peeled for some games for ya.

Arcadia 2001 in the box, and a PSP movie.
NICE! I always liked their quasi-INTV controllers.

Yep, definitely just the classic HBO theme with a drum mix added. One of the things that grabbed me by the nostalgia right off the bat.

Combat, really? Not the best but hardly the worst IMO.
Absolutely. Zero single player value makes it pretty high on my worst list. Even Poker and Blackjack was quite playable for a single player.

I spent more than a little time playing Lode Runner on my C-64 back in the long ago.
This actually looks like a lot of fun:
Anyone else a fan of the classic?- Lost Dragon, RickR, MaximumRD and 1 other

That demo cart almost makes up for that lot having Donkey Kong (which wont even work on the INTV II).
That's a great find for sure!- nosweargamer and Ballblaɀer

Seems like a good deal for the price point, as long as it holds together. I'm curious about the charging issue. It might just be a bad battery, I guess.

That thing on the bottom right that looks kinda like a rolled up poster is a hand held?

A podcast attempts to discuss every major release movie of the 80s, one month at a time.
They are currently on March, 1981.
So lots of content left to cover.

This guy is my kind of nerd, so I always love his vids.
Check out his install and review of the 7800 composite mod. -
I know they are legit, and I'm not a basher...but the website is inexcusably bad (a little unsightly made me giggle). I mean, it's one of the worst websites I've EVER seen, much less for a company trying to do e-commerce.
I haven't ordered from them, but if I did it would be via phone, and I've never heard anyone say they got ripped off by them.
